Abstract Background The clinical evidence about alveolar ridge changes following molar extraction and how the bone morphology influences dimensional remains limited. Methods A total of 192 patients with 199 extractions were included in this retrospective study. Cone‐beam computed tomography (CBCT) images obtained 0–3 months pre 6–12 post extraction. Outcome variables change rate height width. effect on outcomes was explored by single‐factor analysis, correlation a multiple linear regression model. Results Significant resorption occurred vertically horizontally after Jaw, furcation involvement, number roots, wall defects, reasons, overall relative loss (RBL), region, thickness lingual/palatal wall, difference between buccal walls (|HB‐HL|) significantly correlated central (HC). RBL, |HB‐HL| horizontal width change. HC higher sockets > 2.5 mm RBL 50%. Conclusions presented significant Anatomical characteristics affected dimensions When initial severe or larger, even more. Plain Language Summary In recent years, it has been demonstrated that local anatomical sites may influence process remodeling. However, most studies have focused anterior teeth, fewer investigations addressing sites. Therefore, we aimed to describe investigate changes. study, from corresponding cone‐beam results showed We found affect Specifically, greater when (RBL) greater.

Demineralized Dentin Matrix (DDM) is derived from discarded human teeth and has a micro-nano structure with porous network. Its dentinal tubules are rich in various enzymes, antimicrobial peptides, cytokines such as BMP, IGFs, TGF - β, VEGF, IGF, etc., which can guide cells the alveolar fossa to grow into extraction socket form new bone, used for reconstruction of periodontal bone defects. DDM particles have advantages wide source, no immune rejection, simple production process, low cost. As ideal material, it expected become substitute traditional materials on transplantation. In this paper, different methods strategies regeneration defects were summarized, replacement combined barrier membrane, autologous blood clot, derivatives PRF CGF, other novel biological materials. Then, physicochemical properties granules, improved manufacturing process research status caused by periodontitis reviewed. Finally, limitations application future direction development proposed, order expect more evidence-based medical evidence clinical DDM.
