Abstract While amino acid-based surfactants have been widely applicated in daily chemical products, their further development is constrained by limited structural diversity. In contrast, polypeptide-derived surfactant exhibits brighter potential due to abundant natural sources, versatility, and multifunctional properties. this work, potassium N-lauryl osteopeptide carboxylate (PLOC) was successfully synthesized from lauryl chloride bovine via Schotten-Baumann reaction. Surface tension, isoelectric point, application performance irritation of PLOC were studied compared with conventional surfactants. The point determined be 5.15 pH titration, which lower than its acid counterpart, lauroyl glycinate (PLG, 6.51), the existence acidic acids such as glutamic acid. surface tension at = 7 30.54 mN m −1 , much that PLG (37.05 ). Due high content non-polar acid, exhibited less sensitivity. Increasing 10 slightly elevated minimum 38.56 . Under neutral conditions (pH 7), demonstrated superior emulsification efficiency significantly reduced dermal PLG, owing larger hydrophilic head group structure. These results highlight promising household formulations.
