Research in various fields has highlighted the benefits of using extended reality (XR) many applications. However, use musical instruments this context remains largely unexplored. This article presents a systematic review which existing literature is compiled and analyzed to identify current state research. A search four electronic databases articles published English since 2010 was conducted. After merging duplicates, total 2849 unique records were identified, 74 included analysis. The reveals diverse landscape XR applications, ranging from music learning rehabilitation therapies. Diverse interaction modalities factors affecting musician's experience have been identified. technologies offer unprecedented opportunities for musicians; however, technological limitations pose challenges creating fully satisfying experiences. intended guide future research that supports development new forms expression XR.

Abstract We review the literature and relevant standards related to image quality characterization of medical devices using near‐eye displays (NEDs). First, we discuss experimental considerations for NED measurements methods aligning light measuring device (LMD) NED. Second, measurement several critical characteristics, namely luminance, contrast, spatial resolution, geometrical distortion, spatiotemporal properties including methods' limitations. These characteristics were selected due importance applications. Finally, modeling NEDs are discussed. Accurate reproducible evaluation essential safe effective adoption augmented virtual reality into
