Amphiphilic silk fibroin (SF) forms stable adsorption layers at the air–water interface. The range of investigated protein concentrations can be divided into two parts according to peculiarities surface layer properties. At from 0.0005 0.01 mg/mL, dynamic elasticity monotonically increases with concentration and age reaches values up 220 mN/m. In this range, compression leads a fast increase pressure. second part (>0.01 mg/mL), decreases again kinetic dependences film thickness adsorbed amount change only little. case, slight These types behavior attributed distinctions in aggregation layer. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) investigations transferred liquid onto mica by Langmuir–Schaefer method show some morphology intermediate (~0.02 mg/mL).

Human endometrial mesenchymal stem cells (H-EMSCs) can inhibit fibrosis and repair damaged endometrium. However, direct cell injection into dam-aged endometrium shows limited survival. Cell seeding onto biomaterial-based electrospun membranes could improve H-EMSCs' survival prolong their stay at the Polycaprolactone (PCL), silk fibroin (SF) hyaluronic acid (HA) are synthetic or natural biomaterials used by biomedicine field, however, effects on biological activities of H-EMSCs remain unclear. In this study, CD90+CD73+CD45- were extracted from human showed enhanced adhesion, proliferation PCL-HA vs. PCL, PCL-SF, establishing potential composite to address issues. cultured decreased IL-6 gene expression increased IL-10, VEGFA, TGF-β create a favorable micro-environment for generating vascularized tissues. all supported CD90 Meflin seeded H-EMSCs, PCL as platform form biomaterial composites in future. This study provided significant evidence sup-porting appropriately tailored HA moder-ate inflammation wound-healing, which be applied tissue regeneration.

Silkworm silk has long been an important natural protein fiber for textile and medical applications, where its superior mechanical properties play a crucial role. Despite the many studies by conventional stress-strain tests, our understanding of silkworm remains limited. This work investigates complete elastic Bombyx mori in noncontact, noninvasive manner conducting Brillouin light spectroscopy experiments. The analysis angle-dependent sound velocities leads to determination full tensor engineering stretched states. In state, axial lateral Young's moduli are 23.4 ± 1.0 10.4 0.5 GPa, respectively, giving anisotropy 2.3. Different from strain-hardening behavior spider silk, exhibit weak strain-dependence up breakage strain (∼20%).

Abstract 3D cartilage tissue engineering scaffolds with stable structures are crucial for promoting growth and repair. However, limited research attention is given to the effects of cells‐membrane‐cells sandwich‐like living complexes enhanced structural stability In this study, silk fibroin/graphene oxide@kartogenin (SF/GO@KGN) fibrous membranes improved developed through regulation crystallinity, constructed repair using rat bone marrow stromal cells (rBMSCs) SF/GO@KGN membranes. Results show that physicochemical properties membranes, including morphology, tensile strength, swelling ratio, degradation, KGN release rate greatly influenced by crystallinity The promotes adhesion, proliferation, chondrogenic differentiation rBMSCs on surface as well deposition cartilage's extracellular matrix (ECM). Animal experiments demonstrate high significantly promote early formation ECM deposition. This study not only provides a facile effective strategy regeneration but also new insights designing preparing other scaffolds.
