Abstract Novel biocomposite films produced from polylactic acid (PLA)/calcium fluoride (CaF 2 ) have been developed and characterized in this study through solvent casting methods. The PLA matrix was incorporated with CaF powder at different concentrations (0.5–30 wt%), which can keep the biodegradability but improved material properties. structural, mechanical, thermal, optical effects of varying content were discussed using XRD, FTIR, SEM, TGA, DSC, mechanical tests. About 30 wt% increases tensile strength P30 sample (30 shown to be significantly improved, 9.3% 30.6% by supplement. SEM analysis showed that due excessive loading, points stress concentration hence surface cracks appeared indicating loading limit. Thermal proved improve stability higher amounts (>5 TGA results reduced mass loss ash content. However, increasing content, properties compromised, resulting more opaque yellowish films. All that, however, appears a very good reinforcing agent for PLA, optimum must weighed It is evidence toward improvement enhanced PLA‐based biocomposites numerous applications, maintaining environmental sustainability.
