industry
public
health
risk.

Epiphytic
yeasts
represent
an
important
source
for
the
development
of
novel
strategies
aiming
to
combat
food
microbial
contamination.

present
study
deals
with
characterization

yeast
strains
belonging
Starmerella,
Candida,
Metschinikowia,
Lachancea,
Kodamaea
and
Pichia
genera,
isolated
from
surface
plants
Botanical
Garden
“Dimitrie
Brandza”
(Bucharest,
Romania)

as
antimicrobial
probiotic
agents.
