Abstract In free radical polymerization initiated by 2,2’-azobis(2-methylpropionamidine) dihydrochloride, grafted starch copolymers with a weight ratio of acrylamide to acrylic acid 1:2 were obtained. Three products used cross-linking copolymers: MBA, PETIA and EBECRYL 40 in amounts of: 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 1.0 wt.%. Materials characterized Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry reoviscometry. The sorption properties confirmed tests: water absorption, swelling cations: trivalent iron divalent copper. highest absorption is characteristic materials cross-linked MBA (1800%), then (1400%) (850%). On the other hand, best results are sequence > (1050% 900% 570%). most effective sorbent cations copolymer MBA. Solution purifications 90% 45% obtained for Fe +3 Cu +2 , respectively.
