Multifunctional electrospun PP/PVDF‐HFP/MIL‐53(Fe) composite nanofiber membrane for air filtration and dye degradation

Abstract
In
this
paper,
a
high‐performance
composite
nanofiber
membrane
with
excellent
air
filtration
and
dye
degradation
properties
was
prepared
by
incorporating
MIL‐53(Fe)
nanoparticles
into
the
electrospinning
solution.
The
results
showed
that
efficiency
for
PM2.5
of
PP/PVDF‐HFP/MIL‐53(Fe)
reached
up
to
99.3%
addition
2
wt%
MIL‐53(Fe).
Moreover,
exhibited
steady
across
different
parameters,
including
velocity,
concentration,
extended
testing
time.
Furthermore,
incorporation
significantly
enhanced
removal
toward
Rh
B,
resulting
in
remarkable
91%

Abstract
In
this
study,
we
investigated
the
iodination
process
for
preparation
of
water‐soluble
polyvinyl
alcohol
(PVA)‐based
carbon
nanofibers
(CNFs)
and
their
electrochemical
properties.
Iodinated
were
carbonized
at
different
temperatures
(600°C,
800°C)
under
an
argon
(Ar)
atmosphere.
Morphology
physical
properties
fiber
mats
characterized
by
scanning
electron
microscopy
(SEM),
Fourier
transform
infrared
spectroscopy
(FTIR),
Raman
spectroscopy,
thermogravimetric
analysis
(TGA),
while
electrical
conductivity
measurements
done
using
four
probes.
As
a
freestanding
anode
in
half‐cell
lithium
batteries,
CNFs
prepared
electrospinning
PVA
PVA–CNT
blend,
which
was
exposed
to
iodine
vapor

(60,
80,
100°C).
Iodine
treatment

Abstract
Scutellaria
baicalensis
extract
(SBE),
as
a
natural
phenolic
antioxidant,
was
added
to
poly(butylene
adipate‐co‐terephthalate)
(PBAT)
matrix.
With
the
addition
of
SBE,
both
short‐term
and
long‐term
antioxidant
activity
PBAT
samples
noticeably
improved.
The
results
showed
that
oxidation
onset
temperature
(OOT)
value
modified
sample
(PBAT‐SBE
2.5
sample)

increased
by
62°C
versus
neat
PBAT.

A Novel System for Removing Examinee’s Exhaled Air Using an Open, Lightweight Non-Sealing Facemask – a Proof-of-Concept Study

Abstract
Patients
with
respiratory
infections
(e.g.
COVID-19,
antimicrobial
resistant
bacteria)
discharge
pathogens
to
the
environment,
exposing
healthcare
workers
and
inpatients
deleterious
complications.
This
study
tested
performance
of
SPEAR-P1
(synchronized
personal
exhaled
air
removal
system-prototype
1),
which
actively
detects
expiration
removes
using
an
open,
non-sealing
lightweight
facemask
connected
a
deep
vacuum
generating
unit.
Fourteen
healthy
examinees
practiced
breathing
through
facemasks
at
30,

breaths
per
minute;
