Abstract Low-cost detection systems are needed for the identification of microplastics (MPs) in environmental samples. However, their rapid is hindered by need complex isolation and pre-treatment methods. This study describes a comprehensive sensing platform to identify MPs samples without requiring independent separation or protocols. It leverages physicochemical properties macroporous-mesoporous silver (Ag) substrates templated with self-assembled polymeric micelles concurrently separate analyze multiple MP targets using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS). The hydrophobic layer on Ag aids stabilizing nanostructures environment mitigates biofouling. Micro- and nanoplastic (MNP) pollution is a significant concern for ecosystems worldwide. The continuous generation extensive utilization of synthetic plastics have led to the widespread contamination water food resources with MNPs. These pollutants originate from daily-use products industrial waste. Remediation such essential protect human health since these ubiquitous contaminants pose serious biological environmental hazards by contaminating chains, sources, air. The Mediterranean Sea is particularly endangered by microplastics (MPs), polymers, and additives. These contaminants can be ingested fishes and, hence, translocate into tissues. We aimed to quantify MPs, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polycarbonate (PC), bisphenol A (BPA), p-phthalic acid (PTA) in the edible muscles of swordfish (Xiphias gladius) bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) caught Sea.
