Bioplastics have been presented as a sustainable alternative to products derived from fossil sources. In response, industries developed innovative using biopolymers across various sectors, such food, packaging, biomedical, and construction. However, consumer acceptance remains crucial for their widespread adoption. This study aims explore public sentiment toward bioplastics, focusing on emotions expressed Reddit. A dataset of 5041 Reddit comments was collected keywords associated with bioplastics the extraction process facilitated by Python-based libraries like pandas, NLTK, NumPy. The analysis conducted NRCLex, broadly used lexicon. overall findings suggest that trust, anticipation, joy were most dominant in time frame 2014–2024, indicating emotional response towards has mostly positive. Negative fear, sadness, anger less prevalent, although an intense noted 2018. Findings also indicate temporal co-occurrence between significant events related changes among users. Although representativeness sample is limited, results this support need develop real-time monitoring public’s responses. Thus, it will be possible design communication campaigns more aligned needs.

Traditional π-conjugated luminescent macromolecules typically suffer from aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) and high cytotoxicity, they require complex synthetic processes. In contrast, nonconventional (NCLMs) with nonconjugated structures possess excellent biocompatibility, ease of preparation, unique luminescence behavior, emerging applications in optoelectronics, biology, medicine. Abstract This study focuses on enhancing the characteristics of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) bio-based films through integration e-beam ionizing radiation nano-clay. CMC-PVA blends with varying amounts nano-clay were prepared subjected to irradiation at different doses. The resulting analyzed for properties such as water absorption, vapor transmission rate (WVTR), thermal stability, mechanical strength, structural using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). findings revealed that optimal formulation consisted 3 wt.% an dose 20 kGy, which significantly reduced absorption WVTR. WVTR this was measured 60.2 ± 2.2 × 10⁻ 2 g/cm /day. Additionally, TGA results indicated similar behavior both CMC-PVA/nano-clay films, suggesting a physical interaction between polymer matrix. work demonstrates controlled incorporation can produce suitable low-cost packaging applications.

Waste cooking oils (WCOs) are generated globally from households, the hospitality industry, and other sectors. Presently, WCOs mainly employed as feedstock for biodiesel energy production, strongly depending on availability of WCOs, which often imported countries. The objective this review is to give an overall comprehensive panorama impacts, regulations, restrictions affecting their possible uses producing high-value products, such bio lubricants, surfactants, polymer additives, road construction solvents. Banana pseudo-stem, often considered as an underutilized plant part was explored a potential reinforced material to develop eco-friendly biofilm for food packaging applications. In this study, Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) extracted from banana pseudo-stem by alkali and acid hydrolysis treatment. The MCC used in different concentrated polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) matrix alone well both PVA Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) solvent casting method. synthesized powder characterized scanning electron microscope ensure its microcrystalline structure observe surface morphology. biofilms composed of MCC, PVA, CMC were assessed through Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), mechanical properties, water content, solubility, swelling degree, moisture barrier property (Water Vapor Permeability - WVP), light (Light Transmission Transparency). FTIR analysis showed the rich bonding between materials biofilms. film incorporating combination CMC, (S6) exhibited highest tensile strength at 26.67 ± 0.152 MPa, making it particularly noteworthy applications packaging. incorporation increased strength. WVP content films observed low among MCC-induced which is parallel other findings. lowest 1% with (S4) (0.223 0.020 10−9 g/Pahm). S6 also considerably low. MCC-incorporated acted good UV barrier.
