Abstract The thermal decomposition characteristics and fuel oxidation mechanism of ammonium dinitramide (ADN)‐based liquid propellant are great practical significance, but it is difficult to detect the whole intermediates products using traditional experimental methods. In this paper, ADN‐based at different temperatures (1500, 2000, 2500, 3000 K) was simulated reactive molecular dynamics method. effect temperature on distribution main were investigated. results showed that played a role in promoting propellant. N 2 , H O, NH 3 HNO ⋅NHO, CH CO NO while their evolution generation pathways also described detail. initial ADN breakage N−H bonds ⋅NH 4 or N−N/N−O ⋅N(NO ) methanol generated free radicals by dehydrogenation. There no direct chemical reaction between methanol, interaction accomplished through consumption radicals. O provided large amount ⋅H ⋅HO leading lower activation energy than from reference. overall deduced. would help further investigate propellants.
