Cancer is still a severe threat to the health of people worldwide. Chemotherapy one main therapeutic approaches combat cancer. However, chemotherapy only has limited success with side effects, especially causing damage normal tissues such as bone marrow, gastrointestine, heart, liver, renal, neuron, and auditory tissues, etc. The side-effects limit clinical outcome lower patients' quality life, even make many patients discontinue chemotherapy. Thus, there need explore effective adjuvant strategies prevent reduce chemotherapy-induced effects. Naturally occurring products provide rich source for exploring agents effects in anticancer Curcumin an active compound from natural plant Curcuma longa L., which widely used coloring flavoring agent food industry herbal medicine Asian countries thousands years treat vomiting, headache, diarrhea, Modern pharmacological studies have revealed that curcumin strong antioxidative, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory activities. Growing evidence shows able carcinogenesis, sensitize cancer cells chemotherapy, protect damages. In present article, we review preventive effect against myelosuppression, gastrointestinal toxicity, cardiotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, nephrotoxicity, neurotoxicity, ototoxicity, genotoxicity, discuss its action mechanisms.

Curcumin is a naturally occurring polyphenolic compound present in rhizome of Curcuma longa belonging to the family zingiberaceae. Growing experimental evidence revealed that curcumin exhibit multitarget biological implications signifying its crucial role health and disease. The current review highlights recent progress mechanisms underlying wide range pharmacological effects against numerous diseases like neuronal, cardiovascular, metabolic, kidney, endocrine, skin, respiratory, infectious, gastrointestinal cancer. ability modulate functions multiple signal transductions are linked with attenuation acute chronic diseases. Numerous preclinical clinical studies have modulates several molecules cell transduction pathway including PI3K, Akt, mTOR, ERK5, AP-1, TGF-β, Wnt, β-catenin, Shh, PAK1, Rac1, STAT3, PPARγ, EBPα, NLRP3 inflammasome, p38MAPK, Nrf2, Notch-1, AMPK, TLR-4 MyD-88. has potential prevent and/or manage various due anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant anti-apoptotic properties an excellent safety profile. In contrast, anti-cancer reflected induction growth arrest apoptosis premalignant malignant cells. This also carefully emphasized pharmacokinetics interaction other drugs. Clinical shown safe at doses 12 g/day but exhibits poor systemic bioavailability. use adjuvant piperine, liposomal curcumin, nanoparticles phospholipid complex enhanced bioavailability therapeutic potential. Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is an ensemble of metabolic diseases that has reached pandemic dimensions all over the world. The multifactorial nature pathology makes patient management, which includes lifelong drug therapy and lifestyle modification, extremely challenging. It well known T2DM a preventable disease, therefore lowering incidence new cases could be key strategy to reduce global impact diabetes. Currently, there growing evidence on efficacy use medicinal plants supplements for prevention management. Among these plants, curcumin gaining interest in scientific community. Curcumin bioactive molecule present rhizome Curcuma longa plant, also as turmeric. different pharmacological biological effects have been described by both vitro vivo studies, include antioxidant, cardio-protective, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, nephro-protective, anti-neoplastic, hepato-protective, immunomodulatory, hypoglycaemic anti-rheumatic effects. In animal models, extract delays development, improves β-cell functions, prevents death, decreases insulin resistance. review focuses pre-clinical clinical trials supplementation discusses peculiar mechanisms might ameliorate

Curcumin (1,7-bis-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-hepta-1,6-diene-3,5-dione) is a natural lipophilic polyphenol that exhibits significant pharmacological effects in vitro and vivo through various mechanisms of action. Numerous studies have identified characterised the pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, clinical properties curcumin. has an anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, antinociceptive, antiparasitic, antimalarial effect, it used as wound-healing agent. However, poor curcumin absorption small intestine, fast metabolism, systemic elimination cause bioavailability human beings. In order to overcome these problems, number formulations been developed. The aim this paper provide overview recent research biological pharmaceutical aspects curcumin, methods sample preparation for its isolation (Soxhlet extraction, ultrasound pressurised fluid microwave enzyme-assisted aided extraction), analytical (FTIR, NIR, FT-Raman, UV-VIS, NMR, XRD, DSC, TLC, HPLC, HPTLC, LC-MS, UPLC/Q-TOF-MS) identification quantification different matrices, techniques developing formulations. optimal use appropriate method will significantly improve evaluation activity

Curcumin diffuses through cell membranes into the endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, and nucleus, where it exerts actions, as an antioxidant property. Therefore, its use has been advocated for chemopreventive, antimetastatic, anti-angiogenic purposes. We conducted a literature review to summarize studies investigating relationship between curcumin colorectal cancer (CRC). In vitro studies, performed on human colon lines, showed that inhibited cellular growth cycle arrest at G2/M G1 phases, well stimulated apoptosis by interacting with multiple molecular targets. vivo have in inflammatory genetic CRC animal models chemopreventive effect. To improve bioavailability, associated small particles increase absorption when orally administered excellent results both inflammation carcinogenesis. used, moreover, component of dietetic formulations chemoprevention. These combinations anticarcinogenetic properties inflammation-related CRC. A synergic effect was suggested using individual constituent dosage, which lower than experimentally used “in vivo” single components. conclusion, falls within category plant origin substances able prevent animals. This property offers promising expectations humans.

Curcumin is a compound isolated from turmeric, plant known for its medicinal use. Recently, there growing interest in the medical community identifying novel, low-cost, safe molecules that may be used treatment of inflammatory and neoplastic diseases. An increasing amount evidence suggests curcumin represent an effective agent several skin conditions. We examined most relevant vitro vivo studies published to date regarding use inflammatory, neoplastic, infectious diseases, providing information on bioavailability safety profile. Moreover, we performed computational analysis about curcumin's interaction towards major enzymatic targets identified literature. Our results suggest well-tolerated, However, bypass limitations (low oral bioavailability, metabolism) essential order conduct larger clinical trials could confirm these observations. The possible combination with traditional drugs formulations novel delivery systems very promising field future applicative research.
