The primary objective of this research is to examine the relations between individualism-collectivism and communication styles among students attending public universities in Klang Valley region Malaysia. A total 380 from three Malaysian were chosen through stratified sampling participate study. data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire. findings indicate that majority respondents exhibited moderate level individualism high styles, while nearly all displayed collectivist orientation. results also revealed significant correlations such as impression leaving, argumentative, attentive, animated, dramatic, open, dominant. Meanwhile, collectivism showed with friendly, relaxed, dominant styles. From study, by understanding principles vital for effective communication, these cultural orientations significantly shape individuals' expectations interpretations interactions. Recognizing perspectives can enhance mutual understanding, minimize miscommunication, improve overall effectiveness cross-cultural dialogue collaboration.

Unequal access to language learning resources has been exacerbated by the global expansion of English private tutoring (EPT). Despite its popularity, no study examined implications EPT during COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, this mixed-methods explored nature and effectiveness that first-year Kazakhstani undergraduate students had experienced over previous 12 months It was informed Benson's (2011) model beyond classroom. Data were collected through a close-ended questionnaire semi-structured online interviews. The found 318 out 750 (42.4%) EPT, 64% respondents received face-to-face although it considered health risk All interviewees perceived sessions as an encouraging environment for coaching towards university entrance examination expanding their knowledge. They attributed mainly individual attention they obtained from tutors, which lacking in classes with teachers due teachers' indifferent attitude students' questions limited duration video conferencing sessions. participants acted agentively evaluating advantages drawbacks EPT. Private supplementary tutoring and educational inequality in secondary education in Kazakhstan DOI

ABSTRACTThis mixed-methods study is the first to explore association between fee-charging private supplementary tutoring (PT) participation and access higher education in Kazakhstan from perspectives of Grade 11 students during COVID-19 pandemic. Guided by work Entrich 2018, a four-dimensional model educational inequality PT, this found that scale PT had expanded pandemic, with 75.06% (623 out 830) participants engaged mainly excel university entrance examinations gain state grant at their preferred Kazakhstan. Also, 73.8% spent 40,000 tenge (US$88) or less on per month. Although participants' families prioritized boys for providing services, most neither agreed nor disagreed was financial pressure families, probably because majority attended group delivered tutorial centres, mode reduced unit cost gave them attention they needed tutors. Understanding secondary school students’ challenges, language learning strategies and future selves at highly selective EMI schools in Kazakhstan DOI

Abstract This qualitative study explores the experiences of 22 Grade 11 students, aged 17–18, studying science subjects at highly selective English medium instruction (EMI) schools. The is guided by Dörnyei’s L2 Motivational Self System (namely, ideal/ought-to self concepts) and Hajar’s (2019) distinction between compulsory voluntary strategies. Specific focus was paid to participants’ learning challenges, language strategies (LLSs) future selves. data were collected from two rounds semi-structured individual interviews with participants. interview revealed that most students indicated although it their parents’ decision send them outstanding English-medium schools, they gradually realised this type school fostered identity formation as users helped visualise ideal end state. state related professional, intercultural academic gains. reported sometimes faced challenges in understanding new terminology science, along using answer teachers’ questions. Despite these exercised agency valuing a resource-rich EMI environment, certain effective strategies, receiving fee-charging private tutoring. highlights importance learners’ motivations for attending tutoring how impacts LLS use vision. This study explored teachers' perceived benefits, issues and their responses to the when conducting synchronous online English language teaching (SOELT) for young learners via lens of Bourdieu's (Citation1986) capital framework. A mixed-methods design using in-depth interviews a Likert-scale survey was adopted investigate perceptions 124 Vietnamese EFL teachers in different public primary schools Vietnam. Quantitative analyses revealed little access economic as compared social cultural conducing SOELT. Örgütlerin çalışanlarla ne şekilde iletişim kurduğu örgüt ile ilgili algıların oluşmasında önemli rol oynamaktadır. Çalışanların örgütsel bağlılıklarının artması, örgütteki doyumunu düzeyde sağladıkları olmakla birlikte, çok çeşitli faktörlerin çalışanların etkilediği de bilinmektedir. Özellikle Covid-19 pandemi sürecinde uzaktan çalışma modelinin örgütlerde uygulanmasında artış yaşanmıştır. Pandemi dönemi düzeyinde olmasa da modeli günümüzde uygulanmaktadır. eğitim örgütlerinde yoğun olarak uygulanan örgütler için avantaj ve dezavantajları sıklıkla tartışılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada doyumunun ilişkisi ortaya konulmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı resmi okullarda görev yapan öğretmenlere internet üzerinden bir anket uygulanmıştır. 290 öğretmenin katılımı gerçekleştirilen sonucunda elde edilen veriler, SPSS 23 programı analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada, katılımcıların %56,9’unun sırasında okul bağlarının azalmadığı, %86,9’unun normal düzenine göre çalışmayı engelleyici zorluklarla karşılaşmadıkları %63,5’inin ise iletişimle sorun yaşamadığı bulgulanmıştır. Katılımcıların olarak; gerek sorunsuz kurabilmeleri, azalmaması gerekse karşılaştıkları zorlukların artmaması durumları doyumu düzeyleri arasında zayıf - orta kuvvette pozitif yönlü anlamlı ilişki bulunduğu anlaşılmıştır. Araştırmada erkeklerin kadınlara boyutlarda ölçek ortalamasında düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had substantial and persistent impacts on pedagogical methodologies student assessment practices. This study provides an overview of language educators’ perceptions the post-pandemic era, synthesizing factors that undermine effectiveness learning in online face-to-face classrooms. Additionally, it offers insight into potential opportunities challenges associated with teaching future. For this purpose, views 15 English teachers affiliated a school foreign languages were obtained through survey. participants provided answers to questions by comparing their practices before, during, after pandemic. Data collected subjected content analysis. Findings revealed sudden transition education brought many uncertainties affected mostly processes interactions negatively, which caused serious concerns students’ actual performance fairness scores.
