Abstract This paper analysed the causal link between education, employment, renewable energy consumption and carbon emissions in Africa, where there is scant evidence. Relying on panel data obtained from World Development Indicators for thirty-two African countries covering a period of 19 years, five rigorous regression models, we found that energy, investment school enrolment, net national income per capita, employment had negative significant effects emission, thus increasing these predictors would result reduction emission Africa. We identified bidirectional causality education expenditure consumption, employment. Our findings suggest are relevant mitigating recommend governments to invest heavily improve environmental provision mitigate emissions. Graphical

Abstract Global challenges, such as the COVID‐19 impacts, climate crisis, and geopolitical tensions, have prompted economic transformations. These issues led to macroeconomic data assuming non‐normal distributions, necessitating a nonlinear analytical approach. As result, this study unveils influence of energy intensity, renewable energy, growth, financial development on carbon dioxide emissions in Iceland from 1995Q1 2020Q4 using Quantile‐on‐Quantile Kernel‐Based Regularized Least Squares (QQKRLS) Wavelets Quantile Correlation (WQC) methods. The QQKRLS results showed that growth are negatively associated with across various quantiles, while is positively linked emissions. Furthermore, WQC outcomes confirm QQKRLS. In addition, short medium term, affects long influences light gleaned study, should continue its path investments, create policies will completely decouple emissions, ensure system funding clean activities. This provides roadmap for sustainable environmental development.
