Traditional biometric techniques often require direct subject participation, limiting application in various situations. In contrast, gait recognition allows for human identification via computer analysis of walking patterns without cooperation. However, occlusion remains a key challenge real-world application. Recent surveys have evaluated advances recognition, but only few focused specifically on addressing conditions. this article, we introduces taxonomy that systematically classifies occlusion, datasets, and methodologies the field occluded recognition. By employing proposed as guide, conducted an extensive survey encompassing datasets featuring explored methods employed to conquer challenges Additionally, provide list future research directions, which can serve stepping stone researchers dedicated advancing scenarios.
