The efficient and selective detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) provides key information for various purposes ranging from the toxicological analysis indoor/outdoor environments to diagnosis diseases or investigation biological processes. In last decade, different sensors biosensors providing reliable, rapid, economic responses in VOCs have been successfully conceived applied numerous practical cases; however, global necessity a sustainable development, has driven design devices greener methods. this review, most recent innovative VOC with features are presented. grouped into three main industrial sectors daily life, including environmental analysis, highly important toxicity issues, food packaging tools, especially aimed at avoiding spoilage meat fish, diseases, crucial early relevant pathological conditions such as cancer diabetes. research outcomes presented review underly preparing higher efficiency, lower limits, improved selectivity, enhanced characteristics fully address manufacturing biosensors.

Abstract This study investigated the sensing properties of electrospun NFs composed polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) coated on quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) in response to different volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including dichloromethane, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, benzene, trichloroethylene. Characterization PAN/PVDF was performed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analysis. Five concentrations PVDF were tried obtain well‐ordered straightforward morphology with a thin diameter nanofiber characterization results indicated that containing 25 wt% displayed desired average 183.6 ± 40 nm. Besides, high surface area 26.0464 m 2 /g 37.3729 nm pore size. The QCM sensor demonstrated highest dichloromethane vapor among VOCs tested. values sensitivity LOD for calculated as 0.0249 Hz ppm −1 132.53 ppm, respectively. kinetic data vapors nonlinear autoregressive neural network exogenous input utilized most accurate molecular modelling based frequency shift values. artificial (NARX‐ANN) model exhibited superior performance fitting experimental compared other VOCs, shown by correlation coefficient For all VOC results, ranged from approximately 0.9815–0.9964.

ABSTRACT Macrocyclic calix[ n ]arenes have many applications, with diverse structures that can easily be functionalized either on upper or lower rims, mostly to impart solubility and improve biological activities. In this study, triazole‐based p ‐ tert ‐butylcalix[4]arene conjugates ( AT10a AT10b ) their ‐butylphenol analogs AT11b were synthesized in good yields characterized using 13 C NMR 1 H experiments. The compounds evaluated for antimicrobial (AM) activity against Gram‐positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus , Enterococcus faecalis Listeria monocytogenes ), Gram‐negative Escherichia coli Salmonella typhi Pseudomonas aeruginosa fungi Candida albicans tropicalis minimal/minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values varied from 19 2500 µg/mL. AM activities of the most strains, S. aureus, L. C. being susceptible. inhibited violacein synthesis Chromobacterium violaceum CV12472 MIC sub‐MIC concentrations. AT11a all showed 100% inhibition at 1/2 concentrations, whereas compound had 85.1% ± 2.1% 90.7% 1.2% inhibitions MIC. quorum sensing (QS) CV026 MIC, active diameters 18.50 0.75 mm 11.50 0.47 (1/2 MIC). Abstract The detection of ammonia vapor in the air is always challenging and great demand, with main issues are their low sensitivity. In this contribution, we developed a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) gas sensor to detect using electrospun polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofiber mixed citric acid (CA) as its sensing material. nanostructured morphology as‐prepared sensors was confirmed scanning electron microscopy (SEM), while existence CA PAN/CA confirms Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. average diameter PAN sample found range 260 nm 307 nm. highest sensitivity obtained by PAN/CA4 value 0.28 Hz/ppm, increasing almost 4 times compared unmodified (0.075 Hz/ppm). Moreover, also shows good reversibility, fast response/recovery time, excellent repeatability performance. addition into structures enhances sensitivity, probably due enrichment carboxyl group at surface. This work could become promising alternative way enhance QCM modified polymers doped suitable compounds.

This work reports the synthesis and crystal structure of new closely related coordination compounds, [ML2]·nTHF, where M is Zn or Mn; L a phosphorylmethylamide derivative benzothiadiazole; n = 1 (M Zn) 1, 2 Mn); THF tetrahydrofuran. The zinc compound, 1·THF, crystallizes in high-symmetry space group, I41/a, that relatively rare for compounds with organic ligands. corresponding manganese congener, 2·THF, similar packing, features pseudosymmetrical P21/c doubled volume unit cell as compared to 1·THF. main difference between structures lies different arrangement solvate molecules, which likely modulates packing complexes. Another solvatomorph, 2·2THF, reveals fundamentally while exhibiting geometry complex. We consider problem localization molecules types their disorder by example 1–2.

We report a comparative study of coordination behaviour 2-(2-aminophenyl)benzothiazole (NH2-pbt) and its phosphorus-containing derivative, α-aminophosphine oxide (PCNH-pbt), towards zinc halides. The corresponding compounds [Zn(L)2Hal2] (L = PCNH-pbt, Hal Cl, 1 Br, 2) [Zn(L’)Hal2] (L’ NH2-pbt, 3 4) were obtained as single phases. As evidenced by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, L’ ligand coordinates to Zn in chelate manner via two N atoms. Despite similar mode complexes 4, the spatial geometry differs notably, which implies relatively high flexibility NH2-pbt. L exhibits another mode, binding with only oxygen P=O group. differences structures their counterparts, 2, induce solid-state photoluminescence properties. former group conventional single-band emission, while latter reveals bands. minor band at 450 nm is ascribed radiative transition for regular amine species, major 520–550 can be associated either proton-transferred imine species (ESIPT mechanism) or charge transfer state (TICT) different geometry.

Sulfur dioxide (SO2) is a hazardous pollutant that significantly poses risk to human health and the environment. However, development of SO2 sensors work at room temperature has been hindered due their inadequate recovery properties. In this context, we have introduced thiazole decorated conjugated polymer (BBT) for detection 25 °C. Moreover, improve sensing performance °C by modifying backbone BBT with benzo[2,1,3]selenadiazole ring (BSe), resulting in BBTBSe. The BBTBSe sensor exhibits 4.3× higher response compared sensor. When exposed 100 ppm SO2, show values (Rg/Ra) 199.4 45.7, respectively, rapid response/recovery time 60/70 s Additionally, both excellent selectivity comparison other gases, factor greater than 5.3. linear behavior concentration range 1–50 ppm, limit (LOD) qualification (LOQ) 0.23 0.76 ppb, respectively. also complete reversibility repeatability prolonged stability. possible mechanism proposed, based on acid–base dipole–dipole interactions between lone pair nitrogen gas molecules.
