This report describes the synthesis of a [CNHCNN]-pincer-type palladium(II) complex bearing N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-derived pincer CNN ligand. The ligand and palladium were characterized with help 1H, 13C{1H} NMR, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS), ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques. coordination mode was confirmed using single-crystal diffraction studies. possesses distorted square planar geometry around center. Pd(II) used as catalyst for oxidative amidation aldehydes 2-aminopyridines. Notably, only 1.0 mol % loading is required to activate wide range substrates under mild reaction conditions. protocol showed excellent tolerance toward diverse functional groups good very yields (up 88%) products. A plausible mechanism proposed on basis control experiments.
