Fruit spoilage caused by oxidation and microbial infection exacerbates resource wastage. Although starch films including chitosan possessed admirable biocompatibility owing to great biodegradability compared with conventional plastics, deficient antibacterial antioxidant capacity restricted food shelf life. Herein, an environmentally friendly film (CS/G-CDs) was constructed carbon dots derived from Cirsii Herba (CDs), which formed through high affinity resulting hydrogen bonding between molecules hydroxyl originating CDs. The prepared CDs presented homogeneous monodisperse spherical structures ultrasmall size, providing favorable conditions for uniform formation. Encouragingly, the of CS/G-CDs increased 5.00-fold, followed rate up 97.0%. Dramatically, revealed glorious UV shielding efficacy (99.9% UVB 98.2% UVA), its preservation time blueberries remarkably extended 8 days longer than that film. Overall, Chinese herb-derived exhibited magnified antibacterial/antioxidant properties biocompatibility, provided a promising strategy sustainable development packaging materials.

5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) is oxidized to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA), which serves as a sustainable alternative the petrochemical derivative terephthalic polyester monomer. Currently, noble metal catalysts that combine high HMF conversion rates with FDCA selectivity have become one of mainstream catalytic systems for oxidation. This paper summarizes and discusses research progress on oxidation over different metal-based by combining DFT theoretical calculations, introducing various reaction pathways mechanisms It also analyzes characteristics electronic properties active sites, geometric effects, metal–support interactions, confinement discussing revealing roles activation structure catalysts, substances, valence states, activity, relationship between C=O OH groups. Finally, it presents views challenges future development in design catalysts.

Biomass resources such as agricultural residues, forest by-products, and municipal solid waste in Nigeria are quite considerable thus could be a potentially beneficial pathway toward achieving carbon neutrality. This review looks at biomass energy promising alternative to help reduce emissions while enabling the country attain its objectives of security sustainability. The discusses some main avenues for using various biomasses, consisting crops wastes, producing bioenergy. However, large-scale use faces obstacles due policy inconsistencies, technological shortcomings, infrastructure deficits. country’s lack an appropriate regulatory framework financial incentives complicates bioenergy project development process. Resource competition, environmental impacts, unsustainable practices, deforestation, also raise significant barriers long-term sustainability systems. critically assesses strategies overcoming management sustainable resources, modern technologies, reforms. It sheds light on how can harness neutrality targets ensuring that rural is achieved with protection environment. These findings will provide necessary guidance policymakers, researchers, investors willing promote projects Nigeria.

Rumen bacteria have the ability to efficiently degrade and acidify lignocellulosic biomass, among which rumen solid-phase are more dominant. However, effectiveness of in vitro cultured ruminal producing volatile fatty acids (VFA) during biomass degradation remains unclear. This study presents a feasibility analysis long-term subculture for VFA production. The results indicated that production could reach 0.20–0.30 g/g dry matter. After 40 generations (200 days) subculturing, bacterial community underwent alterations. relative abundance certain fiber-degrading, acid-producing bacteria, were less abundant solids, such as Oribacterium Victivallis, was significantly upregulated following subculturing vitro. success this over an extended period achieving efficient is considerable importance practical application microorganisms settings.
