Many real-world scenarios involve interfaces, particularly liquid-liquid that can fundamentally al-ter the dynamics of colloids. This is poorly understood for chemically active colloids release chemicals into their environment. We report here surprising discovery micromotors—colloids convert chemical fuels self-propulsion—move significantly faster at an oil-water interface than on a glass substrate. Typical speed increases ranged from 3-6 times up to order magnitude, and were observed different types motors or oils. Such are likely caused by reactions glass-water interface, but exact mechanism remains unknown. Our results provide valuable insights complex interactions between micromotors environments, which important applications in human body removal organic pollutants water. In addi-tion, this study also suggests occur micromo-tors serve as probe such effect.

Abstract Microswimmers are self‐propelled particles that navigate fluid environments, offering significant potential for applications in environmental pollutant decomposition, biosensing, and targeted drug delivery. Their performance relies on engineered catalytic surfaces. Gold nanoclusters (AuNCs), with atomically precise structures, tunable optical properties, high surface area‐to‐volume ratio, provide a new optimal catalyst enhancing microswimmer propulsion. Unlike bulk gold or nanoparticles, AuNCs may deliver photocatalytic activity increased specificity, making them ideal co‐catalysts hybrid microswimmers. For the first time, this study combines TiO 2 /Cr O 3 Janus microswimmers, combining unique properties of both materials. This system capitalizes tuned their role as , driving enhanced under ultraviolet (UV) excitation. Using motion analysis, it is shown AuNC‐microswimmers exhibit significantly greater propulsion mean squared displacement (MSD) compared to controls. These findings suggest integration semiconductor materials enables state art, light‐switchable AuNC‐microswimmer systems thus offer opportunities catalysis other applications, providing control over motile behaviors at microscale.
