Opportunities exist to improve patient experience in the emergency department for low-risk (ie, non-cardiac) chest pain patients with anxiety and panic as underlying cause of symptoms. Referral internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) guided support is a scalable, evidence-based option that underused, particularly among non-white patients. In collaboration diverse group community partners, we co-developed tested an existing iCBT course generalized disorder delivery by peer recovery specialist concordant lived experience. We analyzed partner feedback from debriefing sessions during testing phase using conventional content analysis. Results revealed overall positive experiences both lessons calls. Key points derived qualitative findings include: (1) lesson resonated reasonably well (2) relationship was key individualizing application various experiences, (3) discussion should be participant-driven based on resonates most participant. conclusion, acceptable partners involved co-development who were representative population.

The mental health care available for depression and anxiety has recently undergone a major technological revolution, with growing interest towards the potential of smartphone apps as scalable tool to treat these conditions. Since last comprehensive meta‐analysis in 2019 established positive yet variable effects on depressive symptoms, more than 100 new randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have been carried out. We conducted an updated objectives providing precise estimates effects, quantifying generalizability from this evidence base, understanding whether app trial characteristics moderate effect sizes. included 176 RCTs that aimed or symptoms. Apps had overall significant although small symptoms (N=33,567, g=0.28, p<0.001; number needed treat, NNT=11.5) generalized (N=22,394, g=0.26, p<0.001, NNT=12.4) compared control groups. These were robust at different follow‐ups after removing sample higher risk bias trials. There was less variability outcome scores post‐test conditions (ratio variance, RoV=–0.14, 95% CI: –0.24 –0.05 symptoms; RoV=–0.21, –0.31 –0.12 symptoms). To our knowledge, no systematic review has been conducted on predictors or moderators of treatment outcome across diagnoses in guided internet-based interventions (IBIs) for adults. identify who benefits from this specific format and therein inform future research improving patient-treatment fit, we aimed to aggregate results relevant studies. 2100 articles, identified by searching the databases PsycInfo, Ovid Medline, Pubmed through snowballing, were screened April/May 2021 October 2022. Risk bias intra- interrater reliability assessed. Variables grouped predictor category, then synthesized using vote counting based direction effect. N = 60 articles included review. Grouping resulted 88 predictors/moderators, which adherence, baseline symptoms, education, age, gender most frequently Better credibility, working alliance emerged as conclusive predictors/moderators better outcome, whereas higher scores predicted more reliable change but post-treatment symptoms. Results all other inconclusive lacked data. Our highlights that it is currently difficult predict, diagnoses, will benefit IBIs. Background Parents of children treated for cancer may experience psychological difficulties including depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress. Digital interventions, such as internet-administered cognitive behavioral therapy, offer an accessible flexible means to support parents. However, engagement with adherence digital interventions remain a significant challenge, potentially limiting efficacy. Abstract Loneliness is a prevalent and stigmatized phenomenon associated with adverse (mental) health outcomes. However, evidence-based interventions to alleviate loneliness are scarce. This randomized controlled trial (ClinicalTrials.gov-ID: NCT04655196) evaluated the efficacy of an internet-based cognitive behavioral self-help intervention (ICBT) reduce by comparing two groups guidance or automated messages against waitlist control group. Adults ( N = 243) suffering from were recruited general public then randomly assigned (2:2:1) 10-week ICBT human (GU) (AM) group (WL). Loneliness, assessed UCLA-9, was primary outcome. Outcomes at baseline 10 weeks (post) analyzed using mixed-effects models. The pooled conditions resulted in lower scores post-assessment than WL (Cohen’s d 0.57, 95% CI [0.25; 0.89]) reduced depressive symptoms, social anxiety, avoidance behavior, rejection sensitivity 0.32–0.52). GU had AM 0.42, [0.13; 0.70]). effectively alleviated loneliness, increased reduction compared messages. Alleviating further seems overall burden psychopathological symptoms.

Web-based cognitive behavioral therapy (wb-CBT) is a scalable way to reach distressed university students. Guided wb-CBT typically superior self-guided over short follow-up periods, but evidence less clear longer periods. This study aimed compare short-term (3 months) and longer-term (12 aggregate effects of guided versus treatment as usual (TAU) in randomized controlled trial Colombian Mexican students carry out an initially unplanned secondary analysis the role differential predicted compliance explaining these differences. The 1319 participants, recruited either through email social media outreach invitations or from waiting lists campus mental health clinics, were undergraduates (1038/1319, 78.7% female) with clinically significant baseline anxiety (Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 score≥10) depression (Patient Health Questionnaire-9 score≥10). intervention arms comprised weekly asynchronous written human feedback, same content modality, TAU provided at each university. prespecified primary outcome was joint remission score=0-4 Patient score=0-4). symptom reduction (mean scores on Questionnaire Depression Scale) 3 12 months after randomization. As reported previously, 3-month outcomes significantly better than (P=.02) (P=.02). However, subsequent showed that 12-month (adjusted risk differences=6.0-6.5, SE 0.4-0.5, P<.001 P=.007; adjusted mean differences=2.70-2.69, 0.7-0.8, P=.001) other interventions.
