WPA Scientific Sections are established and discontinued by the General Assembly on proposal of Executive Committee1. There were 55 in 2004, 65 2006, 68 2013. The last decade has borne witness to WPA's steadfast and unwavering commitment advancing psychiatry in every corner of the world. Demonstrating a great deal professional resilience, all bodies WPA have delivered on this promise despite an ever more challenging global political landscape, natural disasters, massive refugee crises, COVID-19 pandemic, economic downturns. previous Action Plans triennia 2017-20201 2020-20232, 3, as well current one (2023-2026)4, 5, skillfully effectively addressed these challenges by developing programs geared towards people living adversity, suffering from long-standing illnesses psychosocial disabilities; closely working with lived experience their caregivers; emphasizing sustainable developments prerequisite for total health; supporting psychiatrists roles policy makers, service providers, trainers supporters health care workers; finally, implementing evidence-based therapies, prevention, adoption healthy lifestyles.
