Highlights•Pentylenetetrazole (PTZ)-induced seizures lead to dynamic changes in anxiety-like behaviors.•Anxiety-like behaviors decreased after 10 PTZ injections, accompanied by transient decrease epileptic sensitivity.•Anxiety-like returned control levels 20 the disappearance of sensitivity.AbstractIntroductionExcessive anxiety is a mental disorder, and its treatment involves use benzodiazepines, class drugs that enhance effects neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) at GABAA receptor. Anxiety disorders are frequent comorbidities patients with epilepsy, it has been speculated share common neurobiological mechanisms. Background: The present study aimed to examine clinical differences between subjects with early-onset (<21 years) and adult-onset (>30 bipolar I disorder, in particular, relation anxiety comorbidity. Method: Subjects were selected from a cohort of 161 consecutive patients disorder type as diagnosed by the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM Disorder (SCID-I). characteristics axis comorbidity compared those whose illness first emerged before age 21 years (n=58) episode occurred after 30 (n=27). Psychopathology was assessed using 18-item version Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS). frequency delusions, hallucinations, formal thought disorders evaluated SCID-I. Overall, social occupational functioning Global Assessment Functioning (GAF). Results: Most males, had panic substance abuse comorbidity, longer duration illness, exhibited mood-incongruent presented mixed at onset more frequently than later subjects. Mixed mania lifetime predicted polarity hospitalization Conclusions: early seems delineate distinct subtype characterized greater likelihood episodes, schizophrenia-like delusions.

Abstract Background Process-based therapy (PBT) is a new framework to intervention planning, based on the use of ecological momentary assessment (EMA) data and dynamic idiographic network analyses. Support for its applicability has been reported from single-case studies. Here, we examine feasibility effectiveness PBT in larger clinical sample. We have translated training manual modified delivery CBT mental health service. The aim this study test relative efficacy compared traditional delivered routine practice (r-CBT) difficult-to-treat mood anxiety disorders. Methods randomized controlled trial (RCT) vs r-CBT unipolar depression In total, 80 patients are recruited at an outpatient clinic included two arms. Primary outcome emotional distress; secondary outcomes include psychological well-being quality life, adaptive behavior, flexibility, reflective functioning. Assessments variables conducted before after 6 months follow-up. Weekly patient-rated collected every session investigate process change. Outcome assessors, blind treatment allocation, will perform observer-based symptom ratings, adherence with be monitored using self-report. Discussion current first RCT care setting. planned moderator mediator analyses clarify mechanisms change psychotherapy association between personalized analysis effect. Trial registration ClinicalTrials.gov NCT06517589. Registered 24 July 2024.
