In order assess importance this type intermolecular association, behavior sodium lauroyl glycinate sarcosinate were compared. former surfactant is capable forming hydrogen bonds while latter carries a N-methyl group therefore unable form such bonds.

Abstract Cationic and ionizable cationic lipids are broadly applied as auxiliary agents, but their use is associated with adverse effects. If these excipients rapidly degraded to endogenously occurring metabolites such amino acids fatty acids, toxic potential can be minimized. So far, synthesized evaluated biodegradable already showed promising results in terms of functionality safety. Within this review, an overview about the different types lipids, available building blocks, synthesis cleavage by endogenous enzymes provided. Moreover, relationship between structure toxicity described. Their application drug delivery systems critically discussed placed context lead compounds used mRNA vaccines. preservatives reviewed, guidance for design provided, outlook on future developments given.

Gemini surfactants, due to their unique structural features and enhanced properties compared conventional are becoming more popular in the domain of colloid interface science, drug delivery, gene delivery science. This distinct class surfactants forms a wide range self-assembled aggregates depending on chemical structure environmental conditions. The present work aims develop with three chain lengths linked through ester group quaternary nitrogen head groups that can bind DNA molecules ultimately serve as vectors for transfection. Thus, we synthesized cationic 12, 14, 16 carbons tails studied effect hydrocarbon length physicochemical biological applications. self-assembly these Geminis aqueous solution was investigated by number techniques, including surface tension, electrical conductivity, fluorescence probe, calorimetry, dynamic light scattering, atomic force microscopy. All were extremely active above very low critical micelle concentration. Calorimetric studies suggested formation thermodynamically favorable an medium. Chain dependence observed size well morphology aggregates. These ions found strongly, indicated high binding constant values. In vitro transfection using RAW 264.7 cell line all had efficiencies comparable commercial standard turbofectamine. MTT assay also performed concentration selection while vectors. Overall, it little cytotoxicity within range, highlighting significance link structure. When known antimicrobials such kanamycin ampicillin, furnished excellent antimicrobial activity both Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus) Gram-negative (Escherichia coli) microorganisms.

Abstract Newly synthesized gemini quaternary ammonium salts (QAS) with different counterions (bromide, hydrogen chloride, methylcarbonate, acetate, lactate), chain lengths (C12, C14, C16) and methylene linker (3xCH 2 ) were tested. Dihydrochlorides dibromides 12 carbon atoms in hydrophobic chains characterized by the highest biological activity against planktonic forms of yeast yeast-like fungi. The tested surfactants also inhibited production filaments C. albicans . Moreover, they reduced adhesion cells to surfaces stainless steel, silicone glass, slightly polystyrene. In particular, compounds 16-carbon alkyl most effective biofilms. It was found that not cytotoxic cells. dimethylcarbonate (2xC MeCO 3 G did cause hemolysis sheep erythrocytes. Dihydrochlorides, dilactate diacetate showed no mutagenic potential.
