Purpose This case study investigates the accessibility and inclusivity of built environment for students with disabilities at a Malaysian public university. Design/methodology/approach Utilizing qualitative approach, research captures lived experiences four undergraduates physical visual through semi-structured interviews guided by Americans Disabilities Act checklist. Findings reveal mixed levels across campus, highlighting well-designed areas accessible pathways ramps, contrasted others lacking adequate features posing significant risks, especially visually impaired students. The identifies key design shortcomings, including insufficient safety in staircases inconsistent availability modern technological aids human assistance. Despite some commendable initiatives, underscores need comprehensive audits, consistent application universal principles improved support services. Limitations include its small sample size focus on single institution. Originality/value By addressing these challenges, universities can foster more inclusive supportive disabilities, promoting equality within higher education.
