Abstract One of the salient themes, both in social network analysis literature and its applications to migration research, is a shift more dynamic conceptualization (migrant) networks. To elaborate on nature migrant networks, I reconstructed examined support networks 134 Filipino nurses, domestic workers, care workers New York London three phases (pre‐migration, initial adjustment, current situation) through factors that significantly shaped their stability or evolution at micro‐ macro‐levels. At micro‐level, shifts respondents' were vis‐à‐vis biographical events transitions. macro‐level, immigration policies pathways also discussed as shaping dynamics. It was further observed transnational ties re‐emerged relevant connections after adjustment phase while intermediary countries are geographically mobile should be included an expanded concept beyond origin destination.

Research in several advanced economies has found that the descendants of immigrants tend to experience persistent difficulties entering labour market. This paper tests whether social capital contributes disadvantage school-to-work transition when compared their native background counterparts Sweden. The study uses CILS4EU survey provides information on friendship ties measured at age 15 and market outcomes 19, which allows for an analysis networks formed before entrance; extensive control setup; a comparison measures outgoing, incoming reciprocated relations. Abstract In 2022, one in four vocational education and training (VET) contracts resulted premature termination—a potential sign of inefficiency the urgently needed skilled professionals.
