This
study
focuses
on
deforestation,
a
key
aspect
of
the
current
environmental
decline
linked
to
worldwide
economic
development
and
increasing
populations.
It
examines
how
renewable
energy
consumption
(RENC),
GDP
per
capita,
urbanization
(URB)
foreign
direct
investments
(FDI)
have
influenced
expansion
forest
areas
(FAG)
in
Romania
from
1990
2022,
utilizing
an
autoregressive
distributed
lag
(ARDL)
model
Bayer–Hanck
cointegration
approach.
The
main
results
paper
are
following:

positive
statistically
significant
long-term
influence
FAG;
URB
FDI
negative
impact
RENC
is
not
determinant
FAG.
In
short
term,

increase
leads
809.88%
decrease

ABSTRACT
Desertification,
a
process
through
which
once
fertile
and
productive
land
is
degraded
into
barren,
arid
desert,
represents
significant
environmental
challenge
with
widespread
consequences
for
ecosystems
human
populations
globally.
This
review
explores
the
fundamental
causes
of
desertification,
its
profound
socio‐economic
impacts,
strategies
employed
to
combat
it.
We
address
diverse
range
approaches
aimed
at
mitigating
effects
in
particular
importance
sustainable
management
practices,
such
as
reforestation
soil
conservation.
also
examine
numerous
obstacles
practical
implementation
these
potential
future
directions
more
effective
management.
In
addition,
we
highlight
role
policy
frameworks,
governmental
interventions,
international
cooperation
essential
components
addressing
this
pressing
issue.
As
desertification
continues
threaten
both
livelihoods
vulnerable
regions,
comprehensive
understanding
strategies,
challenges,
solutions
will
be
crucial
ensuring
resilience
affected
communities
preservation
biodiversity.
By
fostering
land‐use
practices

global
cooperation,
can

Abstract
Forests
provide
a
wide
range
of
ecosystem
processes
and
services,
including
net
primary
production,
climate
regulation,
water
nutrient
cycling.
However,
forest
ecosystems
face
immense
pressure
from
various
human-induced
natural
disturbances,
which
significantly
contribute
to
their
degradation.
The
restoration
forests
is
critical
global
concern,
particularly
in
Jharkhand,
India,
where
are
highly
vulnerable
mining
activities
land
maintenance
required
cannot
be
comprehended
without
understanding
soil.
In
this
context,
the
present
study
was
conducted
analyse
physicochemical
properties
soils
under
disturbances
across
all
divisions
Jharkhand.
Stratification
by
grouping
areas
based
on
type
(dense/moderately
dense
open/scrub/degraded
forests)
31
divisions.
Within
each
stratum,
random
sampling
points
were
selected
for
division.

Dryland
forests
are
ecologically
and
socioeconomically
important.
They
contribute
to
livelihood
diversification,
food
security,
animal
feed
shelter,
environmental
conservation
in
sub-Saharan
Africa,
particularly
Sudan.
Despite
their
importance,
current
findings
show
that
multiple
ecological,
human,
socio-economic,
policy
factors
have
damaged
these
resources.
As
a
result,
undesirable
consequences
been
observed,
such
as
famine,
land
water
resource
degradation,
decline/loss
of
biodiversity,
contribution
global
warming
affect
the
welfare
humans,
plants,
animals,
micro-organisms.
This
chapter
briefly
reviews
forest
degradation
drylands
Sudan
with
emphasis
on
its
common
causes,
impacts,
assessment
methods,
management
intervention
efforts,
potential
future
solutions.
Given
situation,
there
must
be
urgent
combating
efforts
manage
Sudan\'s
dryland
resources
properly.
On
one
hand,
following
prevention
measures
essentially
deal
causes
thus
prevent
any
further
other
is
an
need
address
appropriate
timely
rehabilitation
interventions.
We
also
recommend
adopting
serious
monitoring
evaluation
system
within

applying
five
indicators
for
measuring
degradation:
