Purpose. Compiling a list of sources, which may be useful for learning about studies and issues related to river crayfish, their ecology biology. Methodology. The holistic approach allowed getting acquainted with broad range literature on the study topic, while selective focusing specific aspects or authors specializing in this field. Attention was focused papers scientific journals collections, materials temporary teams, as well monographs devoted biology crayfish. Findings. Natural populations of crayfish in Europe have experienced significant declines due to the spread plague, overfishing, competition with invasive species, and habitat degradation. Consequently, farming has gained importance meeting increasing demand for products. Although Russia boasts abundant water resources, development aquaculture remains nascent. In this review, we consolidate recent studies by Russian researchers that focus on various aspects cultivation. Extensive cultivation open ponds is most suitable method, owing its accessibility lower costs; however, it necessitates environmental conditions within bodies. The production cycle encompasses pond preparation, stocking, exploration, restoration, monitoring. Controlled egg-bearing females essential producing high-quality seedstock subsequent rearing. Experimental evidence suggests exhibit high adaptability artificial conditions, formulated diets comprising feeds sturgeon powdered dried beef by-products demonstrating promising results terms growth performance. Plastic tangled threads mink shelters are recommended reduce cannibalism. Short-term grow-out juvenile can yield a profit margin 17%, while complete two-year projected achieve financial break-even over three years. primary challenges confronting industry include disease management, cannibalism, need skilled technical personnel, insufficient policy support.

This study evaluates the effectiveness of deep learning and canonical machine models for detecting diseases in crayfish from an imbalanced dataset. In this study, measurements such as weight, size, gender healthy diseased individuals were taken, at least five photographs each individual used. Deep outperformed models, but combining both approaches proved most effective. Utilizing ResNet50 model automatic feature extraction subsequent training RF algorithm with these extracted features led to a hybrid model, RF-ResNet50, which achieved highest performance sample detection. result underscores value integrating algorithms models. Additionally, ConvNeXt-T optimized AdamW, performed better than those using SGD, although its disease detection sensitivity was 1.3% lower model. McNemar’s test confirmed statistical significance differences between AdamW. The model’s improved by 3.2% when combined algorithm, demonstrating potential enhancing accuracy. Overall, highlights advantages leveraging techniques early accurate populations, is crucial maintaining ecosystem balance preventing population declines.
