ABSTRACT Social media has emerged as a powerful catalyst in promoting sustainable tourism development (STD) by raising awareness, attracting tourists, fostering community engagement, and shaping policy decisions, particularly developing regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Pakistan. However, the combined influence of social usage, non‐governmental organization (NGO) support, STD remains underexplored. This study, grounded organizational learning theory, explores how NGO collaboration contribute to ecotourism The socioeconomic framework Pakistan, KPK region, forms background against which local dynamics shape such processes. A cross‐sectional survey was conducted, collecting data from 482 respondents sector, providing valuable insights into region's socio‐economic context. approach captures diverse stakeholder perceptions within sector. findings reveal that significantly influences policy, advancing STD. Moreover, support (NGS) serves crucial moderating factor, enhancing role effective policies. research offers leveraging partnerships promote practices, presenting practical implications for policymakers, practitioners, researchers dedicated environmental sustainability. In particular, this study highlights infrastructural technological challenges applying effectively countries. unique contribution is its focus on media's region—a context largely underrepresented existing literature.
