Drawing on a qualitative investigation, the authors identify barriers to digital transformation in maritime industry Sri Lanka. Based structured and semi-structured interviews, data were obtained by contacting 18 respondents from selected four container shipping companies who hold senior middle-level management positions. The findings reveal that collaboration resources are most challenging factor. Challenges collaborating with external stakeholders have been identified as significant barrier among resources. As result of non-application digitalisation across organisation, between inter-departments also has barrier. non-compliance customers suppliers another obstacle. Barriers technological second factor, weaknesses available IT infrastructure, lack knowledge service integrations, cyber security underlined.
