ABSTRACT A variety of sulfur‐containing small molecules can be found in the spears asparagus ( Asparagus Officinalis L.) including compounds derived from asparagusic acid such as amino derivatives asparaptines A, B, and C. The previous characterization asparaptine an inhibitor angiotensin‐converting enzyme (ACE) prompted us to compare binding three ACE2 using molecular modeling. lysine conjugate B was bind better than arginine (asparaptine A) histidine C) conjugates. stability ACE2‐asparaptine complexes only a little inferior that observed with reference MLN‐4760. On this basis, 20 additional bearing thiol group or dithiolane motif were evaluated potential binders same docking methodology. Three emerged robust binders: natural products isovalthine N‐acetyl‐felinine, drug candidate CMX‐2043. empirical energy interaction (ΔE) N‐acetyl‐felinine comparable measured higher metabolite isovalthine. Remarkably, CMX‐2043 revealed high capacity form stable ACE2, superior Both l ‐Glu‐ ‐Ala dipeptide α‐lipoic moiety are implicated protein interaction. Our observations pave way design novel ligands equipped motif.

Background Recently, environmental pollution has become a significant concern for human, animal, and health, fitting within the “One Health” framework. Among various contaminants, per- polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) have gathered substantial attention due to their persistence, bioaccumulation, adverse health effects. This study aimed compare levels of 12 PFASs in fur, liver, muscle wild roe deer evaluate feasibility using fur as non-invasive biomonitoring matrix. Methods A total 20 male female aged between 24 months were randomly sampled from hunting area Northern Italy. Samples muscle, liver collected post-mortem, PFAS concentrations measured validated UHPLC-HRMS method. Results discussion The results indicated differences among three matrices. Fur, although easier sample store, showed highly variable levels, with different detection frequencies compared liver. such PFHxA more frequently detected than while compounds PFBA, PFPeA, PFHpA, PFDA, PFHxS, 6-2 FTS, 8-2 FTS less fur. In conclusion, presents many practical advantages biomonitoring, sampling stability, its use is complicated by varying concentration levels. These aspects, together single technique, can be considered limitation study. Notably, PFOA, PFNA, PFOS partially similar across matrices, suggesting potential interest further research. offers new perspectives on monitoring, highlighting need extensive research understand relationship other biological Future studies should focus methodological improvements extraction quantification techniques enhance reliability tool.

Previous studies on the cat's tongue focused anatomy of and lingual papillae micromorphology. According to new challenges in gustatory papillae, we adopted a modern computer-aided method 3D reconstruction from serial 2D cross-sections description taste bud system. The study short-hair cats aimed for first time carnivores analyze fungiform (Fu papillae) vallate (Vp with spatial visualization connective tissue cores (CTCs) arrangement exact number buds (Tbs). Results indicate diversity size internal microstructure Fu Vp cats. Four types CTCs were distinguished papillae: mushroom-like, club-like, columnar-like, bud-like, whereas CTC was mushroom-like. Tbs either evenly distributed or grouped. analyzed particular parts revealed differences its number. estimated total up circa 8265. Our analyses highlight functional importance different regions: apex food preselection, lateral surfaces analyzing chewed food, caudal part final tasting before swallowing. Comparing our results previous herbivores, recommend using proposed as effective tools further comparative mammalian structures.

Laboratory animal studies have reported the biliary excretion of chemicals following exposure. Nevertheless, feces are rarely used as a matrix in biomonitoring chemical exposures. In this study, and urine from pet dogs cats were analyzed for presence 45 plasticizers, environmental phenols, 31 pesticides. Thirty-two analytes detected ≥70% feces, while up to 29 frequently (≥70%) found urine. The sum concentrations all (∑All) significantly higher than those measured (median: 393–666 ng/g wet weight vs 216–464 ng/mL urine). Plasticizers dominant class chemicals, accounting 81–97% 69–77% ∑All respectively. Analyte paired exhibited weak correlations. rates via calculated through reverse dosimetry approach. Low-molecular-weight phthalates excreted predominantly urine, whereas high-molecular-weight several organophosphate triesters feces. fecal parabens, benzophenones, bisphenols, naphthalene, 2,4-dichloronicotinic acid, 4-nitrophenol similar or urinary excretion. Our results suggest that an important exposure chemicals.
