Clinically relevant members of the Scedosporium/Pseudallescheria species complex and Lomentospora prolificans are generally resistant against currently available systemic antifungal agents in vitro, infection due to these is difficult treat. Mango leaves and inflorescences infected by powdery mildew in southern Spain were analyzed using multigene sequencing (ITS + 4 single-copy coding genes) to identify the causal agent. Erysiphe quercicola was detected 97% out of 140 samples, collected six different orchards Malaga region. Among these, a small proportion also yielded E. alphitoides (8% all samples) found alone 3% samples. A phylogenetic approach completed cross inoculations between oak mango, which led typical symptoms, supporting conspecificity mango mildews.
