Overexposure of humans to heavy metals and essential poses a significant risk for the development neurological neurodevelopmental disorders. The mechanisms through which these exert their effects include generation reactive oxygen species, mitochondrial dysfunction, activation inflammatory pathways, disruption cellular signaling. function glial cells in brain maintenance homeostasis cannot be overlooked. are particularly susceptible metal-induced neurotoxicity. Accumulation promotes microglial activation, triggering responses that can coincide with other neurotoxicity, inducing alteration synaptic transmission, cognitive deficit, neuronal damage. In this review, we highlighted role dysfunction some selected neurodegenerative diseases We further dive into how exposure such as nickel, manganese, methyl mercury, cadmium, iron, arsenic, lead affect functions microglia, astrocytes, oligodendrocytes they on relation Potential therapeutic interventions use new improved chelating agents antioxidant therapies might approach alleviating perturbations.

Grains are the main energy and carbohydrate sources for human nutrition globally. Governmental non-governmental authorities recommend whole grains as a healthy food choice. The role of contaminants in (whole) how to mitigate any potential risk following their consumption has not been reported. With this narrative review, we shed light on health from elaborate strategies such risk. We found that represent significant source food-borne contaminants, ones being; mycotoxins including (A) aflatoxin B1; (B) ochratoxin A; (C) fumonisin (D) deoxynivalenol; (E) zearalenone; toxic metals like arsenic, cadmium lead; well process acrylamide. Whole usually contain more than refined products. However, also provide nutrients may reduce impact these contaminants. Strict regulatory thresholds aim minimize public health. consumer can further mitigation by eating diet filled with nutrient-dense foods probiotics. posed do outweigh known nutritional benefits grain consumption.

Neurodegenerative and neuronal-related diseases are major public health concerns. Human vulnerability to neurodegenerative (NDDs) increases with age. Neuronal hormones neurotransmitters determinant factors regulating brain structure functions. The implications of environmental climatic changes emerged recently as influence on numerous diseases. However, the complex interaction neuronal their depletion under influences NDDs not well established in literature. In this review, we aim explore connection between highlight available potential therapeutic interventions that could use improve quality life reduce susceptibility NDDs.

Increased environmental pollution, urbanization, and a wide variety of anthropogenic activities have led to the release toxic pollutants into environment, including heavy metals (HMs). It has been found that increasing concentrations HMs lead toxicity, mineral imbalances, serious diseases, which are occurring more frequently. Therefore, testing become imperative detect these deficiencies in timely manner. The detection traces HMs, especially ones, human tissues, various biological fluids, or hair is complex, high-precision analysis enables early diagnosis, addressing people under constant stress exposed environment; test also targets who died suspicious circumstances. Tissue (TMA) determines concentration minerals/metals at intracellular level can therefore determine correlations between measured imbalances body. Framing already-published information on topic, this review aimed explore toxicity health, harmful effects their accumulation, advantages vs. disadvantages choosing different fluids/tissues/organs necessary for quantitative measurement HM body, as well choice optimal method, correlated with purpose analysis.
