Perceived social support (PSS) plays a considerable role in mental health. The Multidimensional Scale of Social Support (MSPSS) is one the most widely used scales, leading to much research evidence. present study investigated its measurement model, equivalence across gender (male and female) age groups (older patients= above 60 non-older below 60), concurrent validity. A cross-sectional survey was conducted between March October 2020, on patients hospitalized due COVID-19 Tehran, Iran. scales were administered 328 (54.6% male, aged 21 92) from two general hospitals; participants completed MSPSS (including friends, family, significant others subscales), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI, include sleep latency, subjective quality, habitual efficiency, duration, use medication, daytime dysfunction, disturbances Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10, assess patients' appraisal stressful conditions). three-factor structure confirmed among by Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). results internal consistency configural, metric, scalar invariance groups.
