Common displays have limited dynamic range and therefore cannot support direct reproduction of high (HDR) images. Generally, this gap can be effectively solved by image tone mapping. Tone mapping methods aim to compress the high dynamic range (HDR) images so that they can be displayed on common devices. The tone curve plays a key role in many methods, which directly adjust of HDR image. S-shaped curves produce impressive performances due their flexibility. However, conventional is single and had problem excessive compressing dense grayscale areas, resulting loss details this area, insufficient sparse low contrast mapped This paper proposes multi-peak (MPS) address these problems. Specifically, interval image divided according significant peak valley distribution histogram, each by an curve. We further propose adaptive based luminance adaptation mechanism human visual system, effectively reduce compression areas increase preserving while improving images. Experiments show our MPS replaces relevant for better performance outperforms state-of-the-art methods.
