There is an observed poor treatment outcome of Diabetes mellitus (DM) in patients with Tuberculosis and (TBDM) comorbidity due to interference drugs used the (TB) first- line DM. Insulin does not interact TB drugs, but it accessible affordable low–resource communities high cost. Hence a lifestyle-based intervention, which this study evaluated determine its effect on control these individuals. It quasi-experimental intervention two groups 25 participants each as experimental cohorts, enrolled from Healthcare centers Lagos Oyo states. The questionnaires were administered after baseline Glycated hemoglobin (HBA1c) has been measured, repeated 12 weeks, analyzed SPSS software. In cohort, difference means HBA1c was statistically significant at 95%CI: 1.1(0.2 – 2.1; p<0.05), indicating worsening blood glucose control. educational scores -0.04(-2.8 2.7; showing no uptake. group, -2.4(-3.1 1.6: improvement behavioral score 40.6(37.7 43.6; p<0.05) uptake changes. lifestyle modifications improved adjunct conventional compared group. Abstract Nutrition therapy has been emphasised for decades people with type 2 diabetes, and the vital importance of diet nutrition is now also recognised diabetes prevention. However, complexity mixed messages on what unhealthy, healthy or optimal have led to confusion among their physicians as well general public. What should eat prevention, management remission diabetes? Recently, progress made in research evidence that advanced our understanding several areas past uncertainty. This article examines some these issues, focusing role weight prevention diabetes. It considers nutritional strategies including low-energy, low-fat low-carbohydrate diets, discusses inter-relationships between nutrients, foods dietary patterns, aspects quantity quality together new developments, challenges future directions. Large Language Models (LLMs) have the potential to contribute fields of nutrition and dietetics in generating food product explanations that facilitate informed selections. However, extent which these models offer effective accurate information remains unverified. In collaboration with registered dietitians (RDs), we evaluate strengths weaknesses LLMs providing personalized information. Through a mixed-methods approach, RDs validated GPT-4 outputs at various levels prompt specificity, led development design guidelines used for We tested by creating GPT prototype, The Food Product Nutrition Assistant, tailored explanations. Background Poor dietary structure plays a pivotal role in the development and progression of type 2 diabetes is closely associated with dysbiosis gut microbiota. Thus, objective this systematic review was to assess impact interventions on improving microbiota metabolic levels patients diabetes. Methods We conducted meta-analysis following PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Results Twelve studies met inclusion criteria. In comparison baseline measurements, high-fiber diet produced substantial reductions FBG (mean difference −1.15 mmol/L; 95% CI, −2.24 −0.05; I = 94%; P 0.04), HbA1c −0.99%; −1.93 −0.03; 89%; total cholesterol −0.95 −1.57 −0.33; 77%; 0.003); high–fat low–carbohydrate led significant reduction −0.98; −1.50 −0.46; 0%; 0.0002). Within experimental group (intervention diets), −0.69 −1.27 −0.10; 52%; 0.02) LDL-C −0.45 −0.68 −0.22; < 0.0001) experienced control (recommended diets for diabetes). However, no statistically differences emerged case FBG, HbA1c, HOMA-IR, HDL-C between groups. The high fiber triggered an augmented presence short-chain fatty acid-producing bacteria intestines individuals T2DM. addition, high-fat low-carbohydrate resulted notable decrease Bacteroides abundance while simultaneously increasing relative Eubacterium. Compared specific pattern, personalized appear result production greater variety beneficial gut, leading more effective blood glucose T2D patients. Conclusion Dietary hold promise enhancing profiles through modulation Tailored regimens be than standard metabolism. given limited highly heterogeneous nature current sample size, further well-designed controlled intervention are warranted future.

The overall aim of precision nutrition is to replace the ‘one size fits all’ approach dietary advice with recommendations that are more specific individual in order improve prevention or management chronic disease. Interest has grown advancements technologies such as genomics, proteomics, metabolomics and measurement gut microbiome. Precision initiatives have three major applications medicine. First, they provide ‘precision’ assessments through artificial intelligence, wearable devices by employing omic characterise diet precisely. Secondly, allows us understand underlying mechanisms how influences disease risk identify individuals who susceptible due gene–diet microbiota–diet interactions. Third, can be used for ‘personalised nutrition’ where machine-learning algorithms integrate data from profiles other personal clinical measures risk. Proteomics especially ability discover new biomarkers food nutrient intake, proteomic metabolomic signatures disease, potential diet–disease Although there several challenges must overcome reproducibility, cost-effectiveness efficacy these approaches, methodologies great research application.

Background and Aims Differences of dietary pattern adherence across the novel diabetes endotypes are unknown. This study assessed to pre-specified patterns their associations with cardiovascular risk factors, kidney function, neuropathy among endotypes. Methods Results The cross-sectional analysis included 765 individuals recent-onset (67%) prevalent (33%) from German Diabetes Study (GDS) allocated into severe autoimmune (SAID, 35%), insulin-deficient (SIDD, 3%), insulin-resistant (SIRD, 5%), mild obesity-related (MOD, 28%), age-related (MARD, 29%). Adherence a Mediterranean diet score (MDS), Dietary Approaches Stop Hypertension (DASH) score, overall plant-based (PDI), healthful (hPDI) unhealthful index (uPDI) was derived food frequency questionnaire associated using multivariable linear regression analysis. in between were generalized mixed models. People MARD showed highest, those SIDD MOD lowest hPDI. MDS, DASH, PDI, hPDI inversely high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) people (ß (95%CI): -9.18% (-15.61; -2.26); -13.61% (-24.17; -1.58); -19.15% (-34.28; -0.53); -16.10% (-28.81; -1.12), respectively). PDIs LDL cholesterol SAID, SIRD, MOD. Conclusions Minor differences (in particular for hPDI) markers diabetes-related complications (e.g. hsCRP) observed So far, evidence is insufficient derive endotype-specific recommendations.
