Background Few studies have explored the associated factors of attitudes nonpsychiatric nurses towards mental disorders. Methods A total 1324 students majoring in nursing were recruited through an online questionnaire from December 2021 March 2022 Sichuan Province, China. Objective SANE facilitates and supports media engagements with their Peer Ambassadors to help elevate the perspectives lived experiences of people complex mental illness. This study aimed explore Ambassadors' engagement better understand support needs facilitate improved preparation for future engagements.Methods (n = 10) participated in interviews about experiences. Participant responses were inductively coded analysed thematically.Results Three main themes identified. These related factors that motivate influence experiences, experience advocates' training needs. were: Empowerment as motivation share media; Openness, flexibility transparency is needed from journalists positively experiences; Preparation surrounding essential.Discussion Media provide a valued opportunity large audiences generate widespread impact on awareness public stigma. Recommended practices should focus providing advocates best equip them undertaking engagements. As global attention to mental health issues increases, its media portrayal becomes increasingly important. This literature review explores the representation of in media.
