This article explores the implications of artificial conversation for teaching and Media Literacy. It does so by engaging with two theoretical frameworks: (1) Luhmann’s communication theory, to conceptualize in human-dialogical system interactions, (2) semiotic Theory Audiovisual Conversation (TAC), analyze its distinctive features. From a Luhmannian perspective, Artificial Intelligence (AI) not replicate human intelligence but rather communication, prioritizing message comprehensibility over intentionality. TAC further clarifies outlining key elements such as knowledge transmission enunciational attitudes, direct indirect interplay questions answers, distinction between attending participating conversation. These insights inform educational media literacy practices, emphasizing centrality questioning, role prompt engineering, development critical thinking, argumentation, strategic skills part New Literacies.

This study proposes a framework for integrating ethnographic principles into prompt engineering (PE) large language models (LLMs) in social work. While PE has emerged as key methodology optimizing LLM outputs, it often lacks grounding the cultural contexts of end users. By bridging theoretical approaches and methodologies from computer sciences, proposed addresses limitations strictly semantic approach PE. The framework’s foundations are grounded empirical data gathered during an field conducted within service organization. Ten interviews were analysed following stages analysis method. Key themes composed multiple relationships uncovered then connected to core components. These components further elaborated various prompting techniques developed set templates that can be applied evaluation customization.
