This study focuses on the optimization of submerged arc welding (SAW) process through variation voltage to achieve improved mechanical properties butt-welded joints made from P355N fine-grained low-alloy carbon steel as a material commonly used in production pressure vessels. The was carried out by analyzing effects different voltages performance, including tensile strength, hardness, and metallographic characteristics. In addition testing, evaluates weld geometry transition zones provide comprehensive understanding how can optimize improve joint performance. welded samples were obtained using five modes, primary variable which intensity current with range 22–38 V within seemingly narrow range. Significant changes identified microstructure, properties, shape size joints. experimental considered 6 mm thick plates material. reference criterion against modes under compared is industry-standard 33 V.
