The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is a crucial structure that maintains brain homeostasis by regulating the entry of molecules and cells from bloodstream into central nervous system (CNS). Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's Parkinson's disease, well ischemic stroke, compromise integrity BBB. This leads to increased permeability infiltration harmful substances, thereby accelerating neurodegeneration. In this review, we explore mechanisms underlying BBB disruption, including oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, vascular dysfunction, loss tight junction integrity, in patients with neurodegenerative diseases. We discuss how breakdown contributes neurotoxicity, abnormal accumulation pathological proteins, all which exacerbate neuronal damage facilitate disease progression. Furthermore, potential therapeutic strategies aimed at preserving or restoring function, anti-inflammatory treatments, antioxidant therapies, approaches enhance integrity. Given role neurodegeneration, maintaining its represents promising approach slow prevent progression

Abstract Hydrogel drug-delivery system that can effectively load antibacterial drugs, realize the in-situ drug release in microenvironment of wound infection to promote healing. In this study, a multifunctional hydrogel delivery (HA@TA-Okra) was constructed through integration hyaluronic acid methacrylate (HAMA) matrix with tannic (TA) and okra extract. The composition structural characteristics HA@TA-Okra its unique advantages treatment diverse wounds were systematically evaluated. TA, due chemical structure, is able anchor within HAMA network interactions cross-linking, conferring exceptional mechanical strength stability hydrogel. Both TA extract possess antioxidant properties, when they two acts synergistically scavenge free radicals, enhance action, diminishing risk infection. vitro experiments revealed has superior such as rapid gel response, remarkable swelling regulation, potent ability. Furthermore, significantly outperformed conventional dressings terms hemostatic performance rat hemorrhage model. We further evaluated repair role vivo by establishing an animal model full-thickness skin defects infected total defects. results confirmed positive effects fighting bacterial infection, reducing inflammation promoting summary, exhibits comprehensive properties antibacterial, which potential application field tissue medicine. Infectious diseases continue to be a major global public health concern, which is exacerbated by the increasing prevalence of antimicrobial resistance. This review investigates potential herbal medicine, particularly Chrysanthemum morifolium (CM) and indicum (CI), in addressing these challenges. Both herbs, documented traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) Pharmacopoeia People’s Republic China (2020 edition), are renowned for their heat-clearing detoxifying properties. Phytochemical studies reveal that botanicals contain diverse bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, terpenoids, phenylpropanoids, exhibit antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant properties, among other effects. Comparative analysis reveals distinct compound profiles differential concentrations core phytochemicals between CM CI may lead differentiated therapeutic advantages anti-infective applications. By systematically examining ethnopharmacological origins, phytochemical fingerprints, pharmacological mechanisms, this highlights synergistic with conventional therapies through multi-target proposing novel integrative approaches

Oxidative stress serves as both a driver and result of redox metabolism across diverse physiological pathological states, including cancer. Head neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), the sixth most prevalent malignancy worldwide, is no exception. HNSCC strongly linked to modifiable external risk factors such tobacco smoking, alcohol consumption, high-risk human papilloma (HR-HPV) infection. These are associated with elevated oxidative stress, which contributes carcinogenesis through DNA damage, chronic inflammation, dysregulation signaling pathways. Current treatment options for have limitations burden side effects. Studies been conducted on potent dietary antioxidants prevention adjunctive HNSCC. This review aims explore contribution in general three major We evaluate latest evidence nine vitamin C, E, carotenoids, epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), curcumin, that shown promise preclinical clinical studies. discuss how these compounds mitigate ROS, influence cancer-related pathways, modulate tumor microenvironment. This chapter discusses the roles of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cells, including their role oxidative stress and redox balance. It explores how dietary antioxidants affect homeostasis, sources, mechanisms action, antioxidant capacity. The PAK (p21-activated kinases) family is a class of intracellular signal transduction protein kinases that regulate various cellular functions, mainly through their interactions with small GTP enzymes. PAK1 and PAK2 in the kinase are key molecules play important roles biological processes, including morphological changes, migration, proliferation, apoptosis, involved progression many diseases. Abnormal expression or dysregulation may be associated several diseases, cancer, neurological etc. current research focuses on studying role inhibitors regulation cancer progression, but relatively few reports available explore potential cardiovascular Vascular injury repair complex processes conditions, atherosclerosis, restenosis, hypertension. Emerging suggests have pivotal vascular endothelial cell angiogenesis. These also modulate smooth muscle relaxation, permeability, structural alterations, which critical development atherosclerosis inflammation. By targeting these activities, proteins essential for both normal physiology pathogenesis highlighting as therapeutic targets health. This review recent studies offer experimental insights into mechanisms by existing vascular-related limitations treatment some ways future can overcome challenges discussed.
