Neurological diseases, including stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s and diabetic neuropathy, pose a significant global health burden. The rising incidence of these driven by factors an aging population, lifestyle changes, environmental influences, has intensified the urgent need for effective neuroprotective therapies. Rutin, natural flavonoid glycoside widely distributed in various plants buckwheat, citrus fruits, onions, garnered attention as promising agent. This review comprehensively evaluates current research on rutin’s multifaceted mechanisms, which encompass antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, antidepressant, anticonvulsant, analgesic effects, well its role enhancing neural signal transduction, improving learning memory, protecting blood-brain barrier. However, despite broad spectrum effects favorable safety profile, clinical application rutin is currently limited relatively low bioavailability. To address this limitation fully harness therapeutic potential, future should prioritize development innovative formulations designed to enhance

ABSTRACT Neurodegenerative diseases (NDs) such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and Huntington's are complex due to their intricate pathophysiology the lack of available treatments. NDs, identified with loss neurons functional impairment, significantly impact global health. Researchers have natural polyphenolic molecule ellagic acid (EA) a potential neuroprotective agent. This review explores EA's clinical molecular properties for NDs. It also evaluates its processes, highlighting antioxidant, antiapoptotic, anti‐inflammatory that support properties. EA has potent antioxidant because it effectively scavenges free radicals enhances defenses. lowers oxidative stress, which is major contributor brain damage. prominent powerful properties, inhibiting activation microglia astrocytes decreasing formation proinflammatory cytokines. In addition, reduces expression proapoptotic factors overexpression antiapoptotic proteins. effects on neuronal survival function by regulating signaling pathways NF‐κB, Nrf2, MAPK. summarizes trials evaluating safety effectiveness in treating NDs therapeutic intervention. emphasizes integrating insights findings. Recent research The recommends further agent, evidence reduce Furthermore, indicates there improvements neuroinflammation reduction, cognitive enhancement, overall neuroprotection.
