Agricultural practices significantly impact soil properties and ecological functions, highlighting the importance of comprehensive health assessments. Traditionally, these assessments have focused on physical chemical indicators, often neglecting microbiological properties. This review explores potential indicators in evaluating effects agricultural emphasizing their significance addressing challenges associated with application. A key advantage is high sensitivity rapid response to environmental changes. These can be grouped into three categories: microbial biomass abundance, taxonomic composition diversity, activity. Among these, carbon, basal respiration, decomposition rates are considered most reliable interpretable indicators. Microbial diversity remain limited diagnostic predictive capabilities due interpretation. Integrating offers a more holistic understanding interactions between health, enhancing our ability monitor, manage, preserve ecosystems. To facilitate adoption production land management, further efforts needed improve interpretability establish standardized criteria for assessment.

Phosphorus (P) is an essential nutrient for rice growth, and the presence of phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) effective means to increase soil P content. However, direct application PSB may have minimal significance due their low survival in soil. Biochar serves as a carrier that enhances microbial survival, its porous structure surface characteristics ensure adsorption Bacillus megaterium. Inoculating husk biochar-immobilized with megaterium (BMB) resulted dissolved inorganic organic levels 39.55 31.97 mL L−1, respectively. Subsequently, pot experiments were conducted investigate response mobilization uptake fertilizer inputs. The (OF) combined BMB treatment (MOF) showed highest available phosphorus (AP) at 38 days, value 7.83 mg kg−1, well increased pqqC abundance while decreasing phoD bacterial communities compared control. Furthermore, bioavailable reservoir (H2O–Pi NaHCO3–Pi) was greatly through input turnover, H2O–Pi (3.66 kg−1) OF NaHCO3–Pi (52.65 MOF treatment. Additionally, carbon utilization analysis applied using commercial Biolog system, revealing significantly carbohydrates, polymers, amino acid sources. Moreover, control, shoot (0.469%) root (0.516%) content promoting development thereby supporting growth. Our study demonstrates displayed higher both plants, providing theoretical basis further understanding role biochar-based agents management.

The high application rate and low utilization efficiency of inorganic phosphorus (Pi) fertilizer could lead to significant P accumulation in soil. Soil cycling is greatly affected by the planting time perennial fruit yards. However, mechanism which soil Pi fractions pqqC-harboring bacterial communities, their relationships, are vines, remains unclear. Here, fractions, relationships grape yards with 0.5, 4, 16 22 growth years, designated as Y0.5, Y4, Y16 Y22, were examined. results showed that increasing organic carbon (SOC) contents pH values, respectively, increased decreased. In addition, percentages labile moderately increased, whereas those stable soils abundance α-diversity pqqC decreased compared Y0.5. Y16, composition communities was altered significantly, showing a great difference Y4 Y22. At genus level, relative bacteria highly correlated fractions. Further structural equation modeling revealed between community richness gene transformation regulated pH. These findings suggest changes closely associated pH, abundance, SOC content orchards different years.
