The main therapeutic options for colorectal cancer are surgical resection and adjuvant chemotherapy in non-metastatic disease. However, the evaluation of overall benefit patients with a high risk recurrence is challenging. Radiological images can represent source data that be analyzed by using automated computer-based techniques, working on numerical information coded within Digital Imaging Communications Medicine files: This image analysis has been named "radiomics". Radiomics allows extraction quantitative features from radiological images, mainly invisible to naked eye, further artificial intelligence algorithms. expanding oncology either understand tumor biology or development imaging biomarkers diagnosis, staging, prognosis, prediction treatment response diseases monitoring surveillance. Several efforts have made develop radiomics signatures patient computed tomography (CT) different aims: preoperative lymph node metastasis, detecting BRAF RAS gene mutations. Moreover, use delta-radiomics variations parameters extracted CT scans performed at timepoints. Most published studies concerning magnetic resonance (MRI) focused advanced tumors underwent neoadjuvant therapy. Nodes status determinant chemotherapy. Therefore, several model based MRI, especially T2-weighted ADC maps, nodes metastasis rectal developed. Current mostly applications positron emission tomography/CT survival after curative assessment following chemoradiotherapy. Since liver metastases about 25% carcinoma, diagnostic tasks should detection synchronous metachronous lesions. could an additional tool clinical setting, identifying high-risk Nevertheless, numerous shortcomings make daily extremely difficult. Perineural invasion (PNI) is a new approach of cervical cancer and metastasis, involving the cross-talk between tumor nerve. However, initiating signals cellular interaction mechanisms PNI remain largely elusive. The nerve-sparing radical hysterectomy (NSRH) proposed to improve postoperative quality life only applicable patients without PNI. Therefore, it important elucidate underlying PNI, suggest effective biomarkers predict before NSRH surgery. Here, we found that characteristic advanced cancer, Schwann cells were antecedent Further, neuropeptide neuromedin B (NMB) produced by was determined induce reprogramming cells, including driving their morphological transcriptional changes, promoting proliferation migration, secreting CCL2 directing axon regeneration. Mechanistically, cells-produced NMB activated its receptor NMBR in opened T-type calcium channels stimulate Ca

We investigated the feasibility of preoperative 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed (CT) radiomics with machine learning to predict microsatellite instability (MSI) status in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients.Altogether, 233 patients CRC who underwent FDG PET/CT were enrolled and divided into training (n=139) test (n=94) sets. A PET-based signature (rad_score) was established MSI CRC. The predictive ability rad_score evaluated using area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) set. logistic regression model used determine whether an independent predictor performance compared conventional PET parameters. The incidence MSI-high 15 (10.8%) 10 (10.6%) sets, respectively. constructed based on two radiomic features showed similar AUROC values for predicting sets (0.815 0.867, respectively; p=0.490). Logistic analysis revealed that performed better than metabolic tumor volume when assessed (0.867 vs. 0.794, p=0.015).Our incorporating successfully identified CRC, it also image parameters.

Lymphovascular invasion (LVI) and perineural (PNI) are important histopathological variables that directly related to the survival recurrence of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). Preoperative prediction LVI PNI status in CRC is helpful selecting requiring appropriate adjuvant therapy evaluating prognosis. This study aimed investigate value combining single-source dual-energy computed tomography (ssDECT)-derived parameters extracellular volume (ECV) fraction for preoperative evaluation CRC.
