This study investigates the use of Indigenous knowledge for climate change adaptation and mitigation among smallholder farmers in Tanzania. It adheres to PRISM (Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses) guidelines. Globalisation, urbanisation, and modernisation all influence traditional knowledge. More specifically, the introduction of exotic plants, historical policies, stigma attached to consuming wild edible plants (WEPs), changes in lifestyles, environmental factors are reshaping peoples' uses knowledge WEPs. This study assessed relationship between ethnobotanical consumption WEPs rural villages Polokwane Aganang local municipalities, Limpopo Province, South Africa. was conducted four Africa, May 2018 June 2019. Data about were collected using a household survey questionnaire administered total 120 participants stratified by age gender. Additionally, free list WEP species known as well data on each species. This theoretical review article examines participatory strategies that facilitate the integration of ancestral knowledge and/or wisdom into designs using sustainable technologies, focusing specifically on rural communities. Various co-creation methodologies and community participation models are highlighted, evaluating their impact effectiveness acceptance technological innovations. Furthermore, potential these to integrate principles, particularly in planning management production productivity, is investigated, considering both environmental impacts current regulations. The results show not only improves cultural relevance technologies but also promotes fosters resilience conservation. However, a lack training among stakeholders involved identified as limiting initiatives, which highlights importance strengthening creating spaces for dialogue. Strengthening Climate Resilience Through Urban Policy: A Mixed-Method Framework with Case Study Insights DOI Creative Commons

While climate resilience is a growing priority in urban planning, limited attention has been given to the procedural and governance mechanisms needed effectively integrate into policy development. This study presents comprehensive analysis aimed at enhancing resilience, using city of Kamloops, Canada, as case study. A evaluation framework was developed, encompassing four dimensions 20 indicators, assess 11 policies bylaws Kamloops. The yielded moderate score 0.559 out 1, revealing both existing strengths critical gaps city’s strategies. Key challenges identified include inflexibility, absence clear adaptation goals, insufficient emphasis on education research, lack long-term projections risk assessments, implementation such unclear timelines, responsibilities, funding mechanisms. To validate these findings, interviews with staff from multiple departments provided further insights barriers opportunities for enhancement.
