Light affects human health and behaviour. Research has demonstrated that children are more susceptible to the effects of light than adults, however this population remains underrepresented in literature. This systematic review reports evidence objectively measured exposure on development outcomes (0–12 years old). Study (n = 59) were categorised into five thematic domains. Heterogeneity measurement summarisation techniques identified. Light's melatonin activity patterns relatively robust, while research sleep was sparse. Mixed findings suggest a protective effect myopia, vision improvements under cooler, brighter lighting. Increased during daytime broadly associated with beneficial social-emotional, cognitive, physical outcomes. Timing, colour, intensity exposures important understanding developmental light. methods limits comparability across studies should be carefully considered. Greater about could inform novel approaches support children's health, sleep, development.

The circadian rhythm is a biological system that creates daily variations of physiology and behavior with 24-h cycle, which precisely controlled by the molecular clock. clock dominates temporal activity physiological homeostasis at level, including endocrine secretion, metabolic, immune response, coupled extrinsic environmental cues ( e.g. , light/dark cycles) behavioral sleep/wake cycles feeding/fasting cycles). other side misaligned contributes to onset variety diseases, such as cancer, metabolic cardiovascular acceleration aging, development systemic inflammation. role played macrophages key mediator between disruption At macrophage functions are under direct control clock, thus misalignment remodels phenotype toward ‘killer’ mode. Remarkably, inflammatory induce chronic inflammation, leading diseases dampened defensive machinery against infectious COVID-19. Here, we discuss how regulates provide potential risk rhythms diseases.

The complex interaction between circadian rhythms and physiological functions is essential for maintaining human health. At the heart of this lies PERIOD proteins (PERs), pivotal to clock, influencing timing behavioral processes impacting oxidative stress, immune functionality, tumorigenesis. PER1 orchestrates cooperation enzyme GPX1, modulating mitochondrial dynamics in sync with daily thus regulating mechanisms managing energy substrates. PERs innate cells modulate temporal patterns NF-κB TNF-α activities, as well response LPS-induced toxic shock, initiating inflammatory responses that escalate into chronic conditions. Crucially, cancer cell behaviors including proliferation, apoptosis, migration by levels cycle stimulating expression oncogenes c-Myc MDM2. PER2/3, antagonists stem biology, play important roles differentiating their stemness. Importantly, Pers serve a significant factor early diagnosis prognosis. This review delves link rhythm regulator PERs, disruptions rhythm, oncogenesis. We examine evidence highlights how dysfunctions activities initiate development, aid tumor growth, modify metabolism through pathways involved stress system. Comprehending these connections opens new development rhythm-based therapeutic strategies, aims boosting enhancing treatments.

The discovery of rhythmicity in host and pathogen activities dates back to the Hippocratic era, but causes consequences these biological rhythms have remained poorly understood. Rhythms infection phenotypes or traits are observed across taxonomically diverse hosts pathogens, suggesting general evolutionary principles. Understanding principles may enable be leveraged manners that improve drug vaccine efficacy disrupt timekeeping reduce virulence transmission. Explaining exploiting infections require an integrative multidisciplinary approach, which is a hallmark research within chronobiology. Many researchers welcomed into chronobiology from other fields after observing unexpected rhythm time-of-day effect their data. Such findings can launch rich new topic, engaging with concepts, approaches dogma discipline daunting. Fortunately, has well-developed frameworks for interrogating readily applied novel contexts. Here, we provide ‘how to’ guide exploring daily infectious disease research. We outline how establish: whether circadian, what extent responsible, relevance host–pathogen interactions, explore therapeutic potential. Increasing evidence suggests that vaccine responses may vary based on the time of day administration. This systematic review provides a comprehensive overview impact vaccination timing immune responses, to assess its potential role in optimizing programs. A literature search was performed Embase, Medline and Scopus identify eligible observational studies clinical trials assessed following at different times humans. meta-analysis conducted quantify effect size antibody responses. The identified 17 compared day, covering vaccinations against COVID-19 (9), influenza (5), hepatitis B (2), (1), pneumococcal infection (1). Eleven out these demonstrated statistically significant effects response, with 10 reporting stronger morning afternoon vaccination. Of six subgroups an average age 60 years older, five showed significantly vaccination, while sixth only men. In contrast, 16 younger than titers. Similarly, indicated receiving elicited response (SMD = 0.24, 95% CI 0.01-0.47), subgroup analyses revealing larger adults aged 65 older 0.32, 0.21-0.43) those or 0.00, -0.17-0.17). The objective of the present study was to investigate influence daily rhythms on immune and inflammatory systems in horses, considering white blood cell count (WBCs), leukocyte subpopulations (neutrophils, basophils, eosinophils, lymphocytes, monocytes), CD4+, CD8+ lymphocyte populations, interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). Ten Italian Saddle horses (7–12 years old, body weight 480 ± 30 kg) underwent sampling every 4 h over a 24-h period. COSINOR method used identify their parameters. A one-way analysis variance (ANOVA) applied differences acrophase robustness, multiple correlation model (Pearson) evaluate relationships among investigated WBCs, subpopulations, CD8+, IL-1β, IL-6, TNFα exhibited rhythmicity. In particular, IL-6 reached acrophases during dark phase, while neuthrophils, showed diurnal acrophase. One-way ANOVA statistical difference parameters (p < 0.0001). Night-shift workers experience disturbances of their circadian rhythm and sleep, which may make them more susceptible to infectious diseases. Therefore, we studied whether night-shift are at higher risk testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 infection than day workers. In this prospective study, data were used from 20 questionnaire rounds the Dutch Lifelines COVID-19 cohort that was initiated in March 2020. different rounds, 2285 23,766 reported they had tested SARS-CoV-2. Considering immense impact COVID-19 pandemic on global health diminished efficacy vaccination in selected populations, such as older immunocompromised patients, it is critical search for most optimal conditions mounting responses against SARS-CoV-2. Hence, we conducted an observational study 435 healthy young adults vaccinated with two doses BNT162b2 (Pfizer-BioNTech) vaccine determine whether influences either magnitude humoral response or number adverse drug reactions (ADR) being reported. We found no significant differences between morning afternoon terms titers anti-Spike antibodies frequency ADR studied population.
