Foliar application of melatonin shows promise in alleviating oxidative stress rice, though its influence on metal-nutrient dynamics remains unclear. This study investigated the optimal dosage, timing, and concentration for regulating elemental uptake, maintaining redox homeostasis, managing nutrient rice cultivated cadmium (Cd) selenium (Se)-enriched soils. Melatonin (50, 200 µM) was applied at vegetative stages: jointing (J) tillering (T). At J stage, improved biomass photosynthetic pigments but inadequately regulated due to incomplete homeostasis. However, applying µM during T stage significantly (p < 0.05) enhanced Se iron (Fe) root uptake by 48% 11%, respectively, while also improving shoot translocation. Notably, M200 reduced chromium (Cr) translocation shoots 82% 0.05), thereby increasing retention capacity. Additionally, 50 Cd 54% increased 53% toxicity enhancing detoxification response aerial tissues. markers, proline levels, antioxidative enzyme activities, with showing pronounced effects. strategy represents a promising technological approach homeostasis cultivation.

Tomato is an important vegetable that highly sensitive to drought (DR) stress which impairs the development of tomato seedlings. Recently, melatonin (ME) has emerged as a nontoxic, regulatory biomolecule regulates plant growth and enhances DR tolerance mechanism in plants. The present study was conducted examine defensive role ME photosynthesis, root architecture, antioxidant enzymes' activities seedlings subjected stress. Our results indicated strongly suppressed biomass production, inhibited negatively affected morphology, reduced photosynthetic pigments Per contra, soluble sugars, proline, ROS (reactive oxygen species) were suggested be improved under Conversely, (100 µM) pretreatment detrimental-effect by restoring chlorophyll content, gas exchange parameters attributes compared with DR-group only. Moreover, supplementation also mitigated enzymes [APX (ascorbate peroxidase), CAT (catalase), DHAR (dehydroascorbate reductase), GST (glutathione S-transferase), GR MDHAR (monodehydroascorbate POD (peroxidase), SOD (superoxide dismutase)], non-enzymatic [AsA (ascorbate), DHA (dehydroascorbic acid), GSH (glutathione), GSSG, (oxidized glutathione)] activities, oxidative damage [EL (electrolyte leakage), H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide), MDA (malondialdehyde), O2•- ion)] osmoregulation (soluble sugars proline) seedlings, regulating gene expression for SOD, CAT, APX, GR, POD, GST, DHAR, MDHAR. These findings determine could efficiently improve growth, characteristics, leaf photosynthesis machinery thereby increasing seedlings' adaptability

Although nitrogen (N) is the most limiting nutrient for agricultural production, its overuse associated with environmental pollution, increased concentration of greenhouse gases, and several human animal health implications. These implications are greatly affected by biochemical transformations losses N such as volatilization, leaching, runoff, denitrification. Half globally produced fertilizers used to grow three major cereals—rice, wheat, maize—and their current level recovery approximately 30–50%. The continuously increasing application fertilizers, despite lower cereals, can further intensify leftover N. To address these implications, improvement in use efficiency (NUE) adopting efficient agronomic practices modern breeding biotechnological tools developing cultivars requires immediate attention. Conventional marker-assisted selection methods be map quantitative trait loci, introgression elite germplasm leads creation better NUE. Moreover, gene-editing technology gives opportunity develop high-yielding improved utilization capacity. reliable cheap include site-specific management, enhanced resource conservation practices, precision farming, nano-fertilizers that help farmers reduce from soil–plant system, thus improving Our review illuminates insights into recent advances local scientific soil crop management technologies, along conventional technologies on how increase NUE linked pollution

Salt stress severely limits the productivity of crop plants worldwide and its detrimental effects are aggravated by climate change. Due to a significant world population growth, agriculture has expanded marginal salinized regions, which usually render low yield. In this context, finding methods strategies improve plant tolerance against salt is utmost importance fulfill food security challenges under scenario ever-increasing human population. Plant priming, at different stages development, such as seed or seedling, gained attention for marked implication in salt-stress management. It promising field relying on applications specific chemical agents could effectively tolerance. Currently, variety chemicals, both inorganic organic, can efficiently promote growth yield available market. This review summarizes our current knowledge roles diverse molecules/compounds, hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S), molecular hydrogen, nitric oxide (NO), peroxide O ), melatonin, chitosan, silicon, ascorbic acid (AsA), tocopherols, trehalose (Tre) potential primers that enhance salinity plants.
