Silicon has emerged as a beneficial element in mitigating water deficit various crops, although the underlying mechanisms still require further investigation. This study evaluated foliar content of nutrients (N, P, K, and Ca) proline, antioxidant activity, growth, use efficiency, yield cowpea cultivars subjected to two irrigation depths (50% 100% crop evapotranspiration) application silicon (orthosilicic acid). A field experiment was conducted split-plot scheme using randomized block design with four replications semi-arid region northeastern Brazil. supplementation increased contents N, Ca; stimulated proline synthesis; enhanced activity SOD, CAT, APX enzymes. These changes promoted improved yield. The results indicate that mitigates effects plants while enhancing performance under full (100% evapotranspiration), leading higher yields even favorable conditions.
