Self-management perceptions and experiences of patients with hard-to-heal wounds: a qualitative study
Journal of Wound Care,
Год журнала:

Objective:
This

the
perceptions,
psychological
changes

self-management
in
people
with
hard-to-heal
wounds.
Method:
Participants
were
recruited
from
a
wound

outpatient
clinic
of
The
First

Hospital
Soochow
University,
China,
qualitative,
semi-structured
interviews
conducted.
A

was
used,
data
collected
analysed
using

method.
Results:
cohort
comprised
15
patients
three
themes
extracted:
(1)
symptom
management
burden
(symptom
distress
lack
knowledge
about
care);
(2)
inadequate

primary
hospitals,
tortuosity
treatment-seeking
process,
expectation
access
expertise);
(3)
self-managing
pressures
coexisting
motivation
(high
expectations
low
level
attention
healing,
varied
treatment
adherence,
financial
burden,
negative
emotions,
contradiction
between
work

impact).
Conclusion:
There
variation
perception
among
wounds,
only
some

Overall,
