Cancer survivors' perceptions on how cancer has impacted their lives been identified as a "critical predictor" of psychosocial well-being and quality life outcomes. Given the dramatic increase in survival rates long-term health challenges, well survivorship care barriers, this study focuses special attention childhood adolescent survivors is guided by Tedeschi Calhoun's theory posttraumatic growth Hammond's distinctiveness. This aims to examine influence demographic (i.e., age at diagnosis, biological sex, race/ethnicity, type cancer) environmental factors geographical location insurance type), interaction effects diagnosis x predicting negative impacts (NIOC) positive (PIOC). PURPOSE Despite an increasing number of survivors childhood cancer (CCS) in low- and middle-income countries, survivorship care is its nascent stages. We describe the spectrum late effects seen, challenges faced, lessons learnt over three decades a program India. METHODS demographics profile all CCS enrolled our After Completion Treatment Clinic from February 5, 1991 (inception) to 4, 2021. analyzed trends by decade diagnosis. RESULTS There were 3,067 survivors, median age was 18 years (range, 3-57 years), follow-up 11 2-46 years). Two thirds (62.4%) had either no or mild effects, 480 (15.6%), 497 (16.2%), 162 (5.3%) grades 2, 3, 4 with 67 deaths reported. Notable chronic viral hepatitis (7.8%), thyroid dysfunction (7.5%), other endocrine issues (13.6%), psychosocial (57%), neurocognitive impairment (4.1%), metabolic syndrome (4%). The cumulative incidence severity showed consistent decline Twenty-two percent are lost follow-up. CONCLUSION Survivors treated on contemporary treatment protocols have significantly lower side-effect profile. Attrition long-term significant concerns. Understanding unique establishing holistic support system go long way ensuring physical mental health concerns countries.

Abstract Purpose We describe the challenges faced and lessons learnt over three decades of a childhood cancer survivorship program in India. Methods provide descriptive analysis barriers running this program, our strategies management, detail stages development holistic support system. Results The profile late effects cohort survivors is notable for high prevalence psychosocial issues metabolic syndrome. Major difficulties were transitioning patients to care attrition follow-up, which overcome an extent by ensuring constant communication/rapport-building, updated databases, peer groups. Objective: The COVID-19 pandemic and associated social distancing measures affected the physical emotional state of children parents worldwide. Survivors childhood cancer may be particularly vulnerable to these effects. We aimed evaluate lifestyle habits states survivors their during outbreak. Methods: Lifestyle distress were assessed in 43 (aged 8–21 years) before lockdown, using PROMIS anxiety depression modules “Mabat Youth” questionnaire. Results: Most (80.5%) reported eating more family meals home confinement compared usual routine. Patients’ activity levels did not change significantly confinement, leisure-related screen time nearly doubled (p < 0.001), sleep duration increased = 0.006). Abstract Background We investigated psychological distress in a South African childhood cancer survivor (CCS) cohort. Methods Adult CCSs treated at Tygerberg Hospital, Cape Town, completed the Brief Symptom Inventory‐18. Internal consistency was acceptable: Cronbach's alpha values were 0.91 (Global Severity Index (GSI)), 0.85 (depression), 0.83 (somatization), and 0.75 (anxiety). compared results utilizing different case rules (GSI T scores of ≥50, ≥57, ≥63) for identification distress. Results Forty (median age 24 years; median follow‐up period 16 years) participated. Most (58%; 23 out 40) school or tertiary education, unmarried (90%; 36 40), unemployed (59.5%; 22 37).
