The stay-green (SG) trait enhances photosynthetic activity during the late grain-filling period, benefiting grain yield under drought and heat stresses. CH7034 is a wheat breeding line with SG. To clarify SG loci carried by obtain linked molecular markers, in this study, recombinant inbred (RIL) population derived from cross between non-SG SY95-71 was genotyped using Wheat17K single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) array, high-density genetic map covering 21 chromosomes consisting of 2159 SNP markers constructed. Then, chlorophyll content flag leaf each RIL estimated for mapping, one QTL on chromosome 7D identified, temporarily named QSg.sxau-7D, maximum phenotypic variance explained 8.81~11.46%. A PCR-based diagnostic marker 7D-16 QSg.sxau-7D developed, allele corresponded to higher content, while lower value, which confirmed effect QSg.sxau-7D. located 526.4~556.2 Mbp interval different all known 7D, 69 high-confidence annotated genes within expressed throughout entire period senescence. Moreover, results an association analysis based showed that there positive correlation thousand-grain weight. Our revealed novel whose had strong SG, can be applied further breeding.
