The high level of psychological distress in young people is a growing concern. However, there are few national surveys that describe the trajectories mental health and wellbeing through adolescence into early adulthood. Further, existing research has largely focused exclusively on ill-health, with little focus positive health. This study provides first profile Australians aged 12-25 years. Participants completed National Youth Mental Health survey 2018 (n1 = 3832), 2020 (n2 974) or 2022 (n3 961). We applied Keyes' Complete (CMH) framework to derive categories wellbeing, examine rates CMH over time, by age gender. While approximately half those surveyed reported flourishing (high without illness), declined between 2022. Rates generally decreased age, was more prevalent amongst males than females. findings provide unique contrast youth pre-, during post- COVID-19 pandemic. consistently high, proportion reporting highlights need consider all aspects functioning accurately understand respond needs people.

Background As adolescents increasingly engage with digital experiences, the internet serves as a platform for social interaction, entertainment, and learning. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated this trend, remote learning restricted physical interactions driving changes in behavior. Adolescents spent more time on gaming media, reflecting notable shift use patterns. Objective We hypothesized that changed patterns among Korean adolescents, including content types, web-based activities, pathological prevalence. Additionally, we anticipated these would correlate shifts adolescents’ psychological status during pandemic. Methods Data from 827 aged 12 to 15 years (n=144 2018, n=142 2019, n=126 2020, n=130 2021, n=143 2022, 2023) were gathered over 6 43 middle schools across 16 regions 1 hospital South Korea. demographic data collected included age, sex, school year. Scoping review: outpatient psychotherapeutic care for children and adolescents in Germany—status quo and challenges in assessment DOI Creative Commons

Background In the context of multiple global crises, including COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and conflicts, children adolescents worldwide are experiencing heightened psychological stress. As foundation for lifelong mental health is established during childhood adolescence, early prevention treatment problems, such as through psychotherapy, crucial. Germany, current outpatient psychotherapeutic care capacities appear inadequate, while systematic evaluations situation lacking. This study investigates state statutory insurance-funded in Germany evaluates various methodological approaches its assessment. Methods We conducted a scoping review following Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses extension Scoping (PRISMA-ScR) guidelines. Publications from January 2018 to December 2023 were sourced PubPsych, PubMed, APA PsycInfo, Google Scholar, ProQuest. Included studies report quantitative primary data on community samples or their care. Results included 41 publications comprising epidemiological studies, administrative data, psychotherapist patient reports. A lack standardised research resulted significant variance data. Nonetheless, qualitative analysis revealed that approximately one four affected by six seven requires treatment. Yet, only up 50 receives guideline-based psychotherapy. Most requests initial consultations unmet, with waiting times psychotherapy exceeding 6 months at least half patients. Conclusion Overall, our findings suggest still insufficient. ABSTRACT Research highlights notable concerns about adolescents' psychological functioning during the COVID‐19 pandemic, pointing to its association with overall adjustment. Identifying adolescent profiles based on distress risk levels is crucial for developing effective support strategies. This study, conducted N = 579 adolescents ( M age 15.97, SD 1.52), employed a person‐centred approach, using latent profile analysis (LPA) identify distinct pandemic. Three emerged, including low‐risk , mild‐risk and high‐risk subgroups, characterised by varying configurations of functioning. The subgroup (19.5% participants) exhibited elevated mental health problems, loneliness, fear COVID‐19, stress, negative affect, alongside lower positivity positive affect. (46.8%) demonstrated intermediate scores in study variables, while (33.7%) showed most Differences perceived social lifestyle behaviours were explored among these subgroups. Results that reported greater sleep smartphone addiction, daytime spent smartphones than other underscores importance considering related emergencies tailoring interventions diverse profiles.
